Is anyone here a LEGO collector?

Sort of. But I enjoy Lego through the kids. There are still a few unopened sets left over from Christmas.

I do think Lego is overpriced, so I’m more than happy to buy the compatible sets.

Bloody hell I ordered mine on the 28th of March and it's still "temporarily unavailable"

And no feedback from them on what the holdup is..

I don't collect that much I have a few of the Technic sets and Architecture sets, and some of the creator sets. Most of them though have been dismantled and in storage.

I’ve started collecting the Creator modular buildings. I’ve also got the Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ. Pie in the sky is the Millennium Falcon ($AU1,299) or some other big sets.

I have a Star Destroyer packed away. It’s about a metre long? It includes a mini Tantive IV, to scale. At the time it was released (2002) it was the largest set ever released (3000+ pieces).

I have LEGO from all they way back into the 1960's (acetyl acetate stuff). Haven't been collecting for some time now though...

I just want to know what the holdup is with the Ford Mustang. Did they really get that many orders that it's out of stock worldwide?

From the Lego store? It can take some for products to restock. The Millennium Falcon I mentioned was out of stock for a few months last year. Granted, that's huge set, but still...

Oh OK I guess I don't feel so alone then. I just thought they would have made sufficient sets to supply demand. But there are issues with the Ford such as misprinted parts.

Wasn't the Mustang one of the fan-created models? I think they only do limited runs of those.

I've got the Mini, which was a really nice set.

I like the architecture themed Creator sets: Sydney Opera House, Big Ben, etc.

Thinking of selling on some of my older, smaller, Architecture sets, though. :(

I don't think it was a fan creation but one of their design projects because they would have had to get the rights from Ford I imagine to use the car design. It comes with a nice booklet with the instructions so I think it is an official item.

There was an issue with some of the printed parts.

You're right, yeah, the Mustang is Creator Expert range.

I knew it was an official set; by "fan-creation" I meant part of the Ideas range (for anyone who doesn't know, Lego run a website that allows fans to upload their designs. If that design gets enough votes then TLC will turn it into a proper set. The Steamboat Willie, Saturn V, and birds sets are example of this range).

If a set is going out of print, it has a tag at the top (where it says "New" and "Exclusive") that says "Retiring Soon" so you can plan ahead.

I got sent to the Duplo Gulag archipeLEGO..
I tried a LEGO LIGO but ran out of round bits. No black holes detected.

Is the LEGO Masters reality tv contest a thing outside Australia? It’s almost like a parody series.
