I was watching "Sons and Daughters" today and was reminded that Alexander became the Federation ambassador to the Klingons in a novel a few years ago. Does he still hold that position? I can't remember him being in Destiny.
I could have sworn we saw him in either Destiny or A Singular Destiny, but I couldn't find him in any of the cast lists.

He's mentioned. In the epilogue of "Lost Souls" it's briefly mentioned that Worf's heard from him. He doesn't show up in person though.
I believe Zero Sum Game mentions that he's retiring -- he's almost 18; you can't expect him to remain in the same position forever. Naomi Wildman will be his interim replacement until Troi gives birth.
Making him ambassador was a joke. Being part human/klingon does not qualify you to represent a major power.
I never thought Klingons went by qualifications when they hire leaders.
Also what qualifications did worf have when they made him an ambassador?
However, per DS9 "Soldiers of the Empire," there are specific situations in which Klingon warriors are allowed to challenge their superiors and take their position if victorious.I never thought Klingons went by qualifications when they hire leaders. Lets see to become captain you basically fight to the death with the people who are a higher rank.

To be fair, he got the job through nepotism, not because of his mixed heritage.

The general assumption is that anyone who would lose such a fight, must have never had the qualifications anyway.
