I'm hoping someone who is more tech savvy than I am will help on this question.
The past week I've been having issues with an Ipod Nano 5th Generation. First it was everytime I plugged the Ipod into the computer, it would say "Ipod cannot be synced. The required disc/folder could not be found." I decided to enable disc mode and things started to work normally.
Now last night I downloaded the Itunes Update and can't get anything to connect. The Ipod says it's connected to the computer (And if you go to device manager, it is there even if it's not there in the My Computer Folder) but when it connects with Itunes it disconnects about a second later and says:
"An Ipod has been detected but couldn't be identified properly. Disconnect and then Reconnect the Ipod and try again. If the problem persists uninstall and reinstall Itunes."
I then went on and spent maybe 3 hours (Till 2 in the morning at least) trying to fix this problem. I followed directions with the Apple troubleshoot, I uninstalled the device in the device manager, I uninstalled all the Apple stuff, and none of that worked.
I am thinking about taking it into the Apple Store, but do they charge just to look at the problem and help? I don't want to pay anything because the Ipod did work last week and now it's not and it's frustrating. Shouldn't have to pay for something that just magically got a defect over the last week. Either that or is there anything I haven't tried yet or this problem happened to any of you guys.
