I love my iPhone, but I am having ISSUES. Running a backup/sync takes more than a day. It's absolutely maddening. The computer I've been using as my sync computer is my old desktop. So, thinking that its age and lack of memory was likely the problem, last night I upgraded from 512mb RAM to 2gb. I should have done it a long time ago, but I hadn't really been motivated before now, as I don't use my home desktop much anymore. But I didn't want my netbook tied down for syncing every time, and my laptop is even older than my desktop and tends to be ... surly.
SO, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. I have an iPhone 3G 8GB, and my computer is running Windows XP sp3. I am reaching the point of true frustration here. I bought the phone at the beginning of this year and have only run the sync a handful of times because it takes so very long. I'd like to switch to using my netbook if I knew it would speed things up, but I just don't know if it will.
This particular time, the backup seems to have frozen, so I finally gave up and clicked the little "x" to end it and let the sync progress. But I would really like to run a full backup at some point so that if I did switch base computers, I'd have a backup point to return to if necessary.
Any help you guys could offer would be just swell.
