Apparently we didn't have a dedicated thread for this yet, so I decided to go ahead and start one. Into The Spider-Verse is an upcoming animated Spider-Man theatrical movie, which follows Miles Morales/Spider-Man as he is introduced to the Spider-Verse, a multiversal collection of Spider-Heroes including the traditional Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, Peter Parker/Spider-Man Noir, Peter Porker/Spider-Ham and Peni Parker/SP//dr. The movie is executive produced by The LEGO Movie and the Jump Street movies' Phil Lord and Chris Miller, written by Lord, and directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsay, and Rodney Rothman. Cast: Shameik Moor as Miles Morales/Spider-Man Hailee Steinfield as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen Mahershala Ali as Aaron Davis/Prowler Jake Johnson as Peter Parker/Spider-Man Liev Schreiber as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis Luna Lauren Velez as Rio David Lily Tomlin as May Parker Nicholas Cage as Peter Parker/Spider-Man Noir John Mulaney as Peter Porker/Spider-Ham Kimiko Glen as Peni Parker/SP//dr Trailer Earlier today Funko revealed their line of collectables, which I believe is giving us our first look at the movie's version of a lot of it's characters, including Green Goblin, a very unique Scorpion, Kingpin, and SP//dr. Today is the first I've heard of Lily Tomlin as Aunt May, and I love that, that is perfect casting. I hadn't heard about Liev Schreiber as Kingpin either, and that should be interesting. EDIT: Oops, I just realized I forgot to include the release date, December 14th for the US. That's the only one on Wikipedia, so that's the only one I know right, I'll try and see if there are different ones for other countries tomorrow.
Here's another new trailer: Which strongly implies that the older Peter Parker Spidey in this movie is the same person as the Tobey Maguire Spidey, and sets up the theory that all the Spidey movie universes are part of the same larger multiverse (which is consistent with the idea in the comics' "Spider-Verse" storyline that every comics, film, TV, and other incarnation of Spidey is "real" in some dimension of the multiverse).
I was already excited about this film before but the second trailer raises that excitement even more. Plus, the film sports a killer cast (well, aside from Nicholas Cage...) and I'm particularly thrilled to see Kimiko Glen involved even though I've never heard of her character. If nothing else, I expect the film will be a lot of fun.
That new trailer was great, and actually sold me on the movie (even as someone who prefers smooth animation and doesn't like the Miles Morales character in general). Its probably not a "see in theaters" thing for me, but I definitely look forward to watching it on home video.
Wow, that new trailer was great. Honestly, this looks like it has potential to be my favorite Spidey movie yet.
This music video includes additional scenes from the film: Spoiler: So... It would appear that, aside from the Spider-Gwen visiting from another, another dimension, there is also a Gwen Stacy in Miles' class. As an aside, this is the song used in the prior trailer:
It seems they're already planning an all-female sequel/spin-off. I remember when the proposed sequel to the now-defunct Silver and Black was supposed to be an all female superhero jam. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...Tq3lg_IzM_0NT8XQ2Cguc7hjgwg48NrJuQxhS70b6nqCU
I'm pleased to hear that Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery, two of the best animation directors in television, have both been tapped to make Spider-Verse sequel movies.
I like the idea of Spider-Gwen (is it spider woman? Ghost spider? now) movie. Not sure I'm interested in an all female spin off if that makes sense.
A new cast list that includes several characters and actors we haven't heard about has been released to the media. Spoiler: These names could be potential spoilers Peter Parker ... Chris Pine Mary Jane ... Zoe Kravitz Doc Ock ... Kathryn Hahn Vanessa Fisk ... Lake Bell Green Goblin ... Jorma Taccone Brooklyn Bystander ... Post Malone Stan ... Stan Lee Chris Isaac as "Intersting Person #1" AKA Spider-Man 2099 The ones I find most interesting are Chris Pine as Peter Parker, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, and Kathryn Hahn as Doc Ock. Is there a female Doc Ock in one of the comic universes? It's pretty impressive that they've managed to keep Pine and Isaac's involvement quite this long.
Spoiler Doc Ock II/Lady Octopus was a thing for a little while in the main Marvel Comics universe, I think she came about in the Clone Saga era, fighting Peter and Scarlet Spider for a bit, and she shows up every so often for cameo and background appearances.
