In Star Trek: Into Darkness,
once the Vengeance catches the Enterprise, Marcus says, "Captain Kirk, without authorization and in league with the fugitive John Harrison, you went rogue in enemy territory, leaving me no choice but to hunt you down and destroy you." Does this explain why no Starship came to help Enterprise when it was being blasted by Vengeance near the moon - had Marcus portrayed to Starfleet that the Enterprise was now a rogue ship in league with John Harrison, who had committed terrorist acuts on Earth against Starfleet, then went to the Klingons ... Could Marcus have portrayed Enterprise as a rogue vessel to there stop the Fleet that should not be communicated with in any way by any Fleet personnel or bases, since it was now an "enemy aligned vessel" that was a threat to all Starfleet bases and ships? ...
