In 2019 Jack Bauer settles down as stay-at home grandfather...

I think the producers have said that despite whatever amount of time is supposed to have passed between seasons, Jack is always the same age that Keifer is offscreen. Thus while Kim may have aged by 15 years in 24 time, Jack has only aged by about 8 or 9.

For a show whose central premise is about adhering to real time during the episodes, their failure to stick to anything remotely resembling real time between seasons is remarkably silly! Then again, most things about 24 are remarkably silly. Not that that will stop me tuning in ...

24's 8th Season premieres this Sunday and next Monday with the usual two-night, four hour, extravaganza! This "day" in 24 will begin at 4:00PM the latest the day has ever started which also means this will be one of Jack's longer days of staying up since probably Season 1.

Hopefully Jack is getting smart and sleeps in every single day in case that day ends up being one of "the longest days of his life".

IMHO, he likely would've had to been closer to 40 in S1 for his history to make any sense.
Could be; and KS did once mention that he had been surprised that he'd be playing a dad in season 1. Man, that Bauer guy is old!

For some reason--and I could be wrong about this--I thought I read or maybe just assumed somewhere that Jack was pretty young when he and Teri had Kim.

Either way, realistically, there's no way Jack could have aged 15 years since the show started and still be kicking ass. Though Bruce Willis is in his 50s, isn't he? So who knows.

I'm definitely looking forward to the premiere this Sunday/Monday.

And Fox does the very rare going past 10 PM (9 PM in the Central) hour for it. Despite wondering if I should stay with the show before Redemption, it did improve quite a bit in Season 7 and I'm looking forward to season 8.
