I'm Bringing Starscape Back...

Hey guys, Starscape is coming back. For the last 3 years we've been merged with another board, but there's a lot going on there, and my members aren't too comfortable, so we're returning to our own board. I had to build the board from scratch again, so if you want to join, you'll have to register.

What do we have to offer? What the original Starscape BBS offered: community, discussion, Star Trek, fantasy, writing, other interests. You know we're a quiet board, but everyone is always welcome. I've tried twice now to join, got as far as completing the join questions, at which point (with other sites) a email with further instructions should have been sent.

Starscape? We used to have an adult section, but I removed that a long time ago. We merged with another forum, and that was the state of things until this year when things got to the point where I, and several of the other members, were concerned with the direction in which that board was going (in terms of racism, misogyny, et al), and that's why I recreated the board. We do not tolerate hate speech, racism, or misogyny.

It was from what I saw all males posting, lots of "look at this hot actress in her bra" posts, really crass commentary.. Maybe it was the adult section or maybe the adult section was the only part that had posts

What were you recently merged with?

Wordforge. We merged with them back in 2013. The board changed direction recently, and in some respects it was a change I found highly unsettling, so I touched base with some of our members from the original Starscape, they felt the same way, and so I recreated the board and opened it up to everyone. We're very LGBTQ friendly, and we have a strict policy against misogynistic, or racial slurs.

Yep. We merged, but didn't fully integrate because our community wanted to retain its identity. To be honest, that made it so much easier to break away and re-open our own board again.

Oh, it's not a hidden forum, but Google doesn't see The Brig. Guests can't see that forum. Members only see it when they login, and since Google only indexes what it can see, there's nothing there for it to index.
