I'm not sure the whole Justice League approach to Star Trek films would have worked so well; as-is, the movies often disregarded all but two, maybe three, characters in terms of real development. Trying to shovel three casts in could well have been downright embarrassing.

I wouldn't have minded one more, good TNG film. Toss in a character or two from DS9, a character or two from Voyager. That's it.

I'd liked to have seen a DS9 movie but I know it wouldn't do the box office to justify it, and it would have hurt the Trek franchise as a whole. After TNG went down the tubes, the last thing they needed was an even bigger disaster.

JJ Abrams figured out the best way to bring back Trek, which is the bigger picture issue. Now all we need is Trek back on TV, which again can't have anything to do with DS9 if our goal is to see the franchise prosper on TV. They need to stick with the 23rd C for now.
