A poll to see how many people in Misc use iGoogle (either as their home page or in some other way)

I tried it and ended up deciding that I preferred the nice, clean, uncluttered Google page, and that there were better options for getting some of the feeds and widgets (i.e., LJ, Twitter, Google Gadgets, etc.) I still have an iGoogle page, but I rarely think of using it.

I use iGoogle for my home page and mine looks almost the same as yours, with a different theme. We've got all the same applications.

TrekBBS is my homepage. Other than Facebook, it's really the only website I visit.

I've never even heard of iGoogle.

If and when Google Wave becomes popular, I will use that as my homepage. I have it right now, but nobody uses it.

I used to have iGoogle set up at my Mother's house before she moved and got a new computer; I kind of forgot about it after that. I haven't used it here at all. Regular old Google is my home page.

I used it for a bit, but I found it irritating and almost every time I'd open a browser I'd switch to regular old Google anyway.

I hate clutter. Which is peculiar if you've ever seen my own site...

Till this thread I had not heard about igoogle!

My home page is a page of handy links. I made it myself and change it whenever needed (although I haven't done that since we played Band/Album/Cover...)

I have it as a homepage on my netbook, so I can just quickly catch up on news and things, but not on my main PC.

Voted that I hadn't heard of it, but maybe I have used it once.

Prefer my current home page (Aust) ABC News.

I mostly use it so that I can see my Gmail inbox and my customized list of links right away. It also helps having a wikipedia search box and some news links right there.

I do have an igoogle page, but it takes longer to load all the stuff for it. Sometimes a widget will time out, and the page doesn't respond well until it is through with loading stuff.

So I decided that...
If I want to search, it is quicker and easier for me to have a bookmark to plain old google.
If I want to translate something, it is quicker and easier to have a bookmark to google translate.
If I want to use the dictionary, or see the news, it is quicker and easier to have a bookmark for them too.

I use acronyms in my bookmarks bar, rather than verbose text, which saves a lot of space. Like this, I have 24 fitting along the first row, which is most of the websites/online tools I use.

google is "G"
dictionary is "d"
yahoo mail is "Y"
youtube is "U"
wikipedia is "wP"
etc

I tried it once during my (extremely brief) Google Chrome phase. Now I don't really use it anymore.
