Because he is WILLIAM SHATNER. And, like, the KING of Trek!!! And probably full of interesting stories. And not going to be around forever, so I need to grab him while he's still here. I would love to sit opposite him over dinner and let him ramble on. It would be an incredible evening.

I would have to go with Nicole DeBoer... she's a fellow canuck, and I get the impression that she's approachable enough that I wouldn't be overwhelmed by her like some of the other "living legends," if that makes sense. Of course, that's only my impression from watching her act, so who knows?

Wil Wheaton. He's a huge geek and a really fun guy, we'd have loads to talk about.

In terms of ogling attractive actresses across the dinner table, it would be a coin-toss between NDB, RBD and Jeri Ryan.

Edit: And yes, I would need a three-sided coin for that.

I'm surprised I'm the only one (so far) who voted for Patrick Stewart. It would be a treat hearing him tell his life story, his views on Trek, how it affected his career, and whether he has any rooting interest in Trek's future. Plus he might break out and perform one of his one-man plays!

I'd also like to meet with LeVar Burton. I'd like to hear his views on Trek as both an actor and director. It'd be interesting to hear his commentary on race-relations back in 1980s Trek, for he seems like a pretty thoughtful guy. And I get the notion he's a nice guy. (I could be wrong about that — I've never been to a convention.)

Well, if I'm going for purely shallow reasons (which I'm sure some others are doing) then my choice is obviously Alexander Siddig
Then again, apart from just staring at him with a somewhat embarrassing look of awe on my face, I think I would be able to talk to him quite well (after calming down a little)

As for other people I'd love to talk to over dinner
Patrick Stewart (because.... well... he's Patrick Stewart, are any other reasons needed)
Jonathan Frakes (again... no reasons are needed, he's just awesome)
Brent Spiner (seems like he'd be a great laugh)
Kate Mulgrew (because she just seems so nice and easy to talk to)
Tim Russ (again, seems like a great laugh and easy to talk to)
Jeri Ryan (okay, so she'd also be great to look at... but also good to talk to)
