If there WAS a Season 8

Season 8 should have been the Civil war against the corrupt president of the federation, after they attack DS9 they proclaim DS9 independant and get help from Mars, once on Mars, section 31 captures Sisko and brings him to Earth and tortures him. He's eventually saved and they manage to save Earth and the federation. Later on they let some Telepaths live on the station and Sher..Sisko gets to regret it because they start to cause trouble ending with a dramatic hostage situation.

After the telepaths are dead the Breen comes back to Cardassia and forces the Cardassian leader to do what the Breen say in secret othervise they will bomb and destroy Cardassia with hidden nuclear bombs. The Breen forces the Cardassians to attack others in secret eventually the romulans and klingons bomb Cardassia again and Cardassia surrenders but isolates themselves for the next 20 years.

After all that Sisko dies and goes to the first ones

^^^ There are better ways to deal with merely a "corrupt president of the Federation" than a full-fledged civil war. Case in point: that president was forced to resign before suddenly "disappearing" (read: killed by a Section 31 agent).

well this corrupt president would have star fleet behind him because he would have replaced many top admirals and captains with his own supporters, and when Sisko refuses to do a direct order the president attacks DS9, and several albeit a minority of captains would defect to Sisko

I really liked NKemp's ideas. They are well thought out and would've made for some great TV.

Thanks a bunch, DarKush. I've been thinking about these plot ideas for years and may have shared them on this site once back in the early 2000s.

BolianAdmiral's ideas concerning Jake are good ones that I have considered myself. But i think it was important to cover these issues back during the last two seasons of the show (or even before then). IMO we needed to see Jake grow and spread his wings a bit. In terms of his relationship to Bajor and its people it would have been a perfect angle to deal with when Jake stayed behind during "A Call to Arms". How protective were the Bajorans of Jake, the son of the Emissary? Would politicians and religious leaders of Bajor try to woo him thinking getting on his good side would enhance their opportunities to have the Emissary's ear? Hell, I always wondered if Jake would get a discount from a Bajoran shopkeeper on the promenade. Even little stuff like that would have been interesting. But I was truly ticked off that TPTB never decided to explore any sort of friendship between Jake and Ziyal during the Dominion occupation of DS9. Not only were they around the same age but their fathers were such polar opposites in the minds of Bajorans. Both were men of authority who ran the station but one was seen as a brutal overseer while the other was seen as a religious figure that Bajorans had been waiting o for centuries. As a result would Jake and Ziyal be treated much differently by Bajorans? (Ironically Ziyal had Bajoran blood in her but Jake would likely be accepted much more amongst Bajorans). If so how would that affect Jake and Ziyal's friendship? Even more importantly how would the relationship between their fathers affect how they viewed each other. Possibilities were endless pre-death of Ziyal.

Also I thought Jake the last two seasons should have been on some far-flung colonies full of Federation civilians who were in the line of fire of Dominion forces. Ad this time Jake doesn't run away from the horror nor rescued by his father. It would have helped him show more signs of growth.

It would have dealt with Bajor joining The Federation, Odo taking leadership of The Dominion, the rebuilding of the galaxy, and Dukat and The Pah-Wraiths trying to destroy the galaxy.

Ds9 shoukd have stayed on the air. It was supposed t obe the Gunsmoke of the Trek shows. It could have been used to showcase new actors, scenarios, new spec effcts tech, etc and it couldhave had a nendless supply of stories.
It ended in 1999 with Voyager haviung 2 seasons left.
DS9 should have ended with a larger and newer Defiant almst like Voyager. It could have had Worf taking command of the ship as it explored wrecked cardassian space and a plot contrivance could have had it going into the gamma Quadrant. a few Voyager characters could have been transferred over. the show would have run for another 7 years. the space station would only have bene seen in every oter couple of episodes. Worf woukd have been acting almost like te hambbasdor he was supposed t obe as he had to work with the Cardassians, Roms, klingons, etc oin the rebuilding of th alpha quadt.
