If the Q put this version of humanity on trial for being a grievously savage race how would that turn out? Maybe Lorca could petition the court to accept him and his comrades as proof of what humanity has become the way Picard did or the Q could just rule on the facts seen so far from Lorca and his crew.

It'd go down about as well as if he put Sisko and the DS9 crew on trial.

Lorca would end up with the Q wiping out all of human history and erasing it from the timeline. Michael would have Q making her a God like them and not passing on becoming a Q like Riker.

Lorca grabs a phaser rifle and shoots Q in the chest. Q, shocked, looks at the gaping hole in his chest, then back at Lorca.
Q: "You shot me! Picard never shot me! Janeway never shot me! Sisko punched me, and Robau kicked my ass, but they never sunk so low as to shoot me! Just what kind of Starfleet captain are you?"
Lorca: "I'm Gabriel Lorca, bitch. Welcome to USS Discovery. Now get off my bridge."
    Q vanishes.

Q has about as much right to judge humans as Weinstein does to judge men.

Q: You will now answer to the charge of being a grievously savage race.
Lorca: Dude, we're at war with the motherfucking Klingons! Why don't you go ask them first?!
Q: It's kinda hard to understand them under all that make-up and I don't read subtitles, so I thought playing with you would be more fun.

    LORCA: Don't care.

And Lorca vanishes into an ameoba Petri dish like Q's son.. I can see that happening. Q running like a bitch, never really happened. He's always got the last word.

Best way to handle a bully, confront them until they go away. Then laugh at them.

If the human race is judged by Lorca, as an example of it? Have mercy. He's a war monger with a screw loose and is rewarded because of it. However, he gets results. The human race is driven by a need to dominate other races under the guise of principles, if it needs to do harm, it will.

According to what we've learned from Encounter at Farpoint, Q's test consists of discovering a space-dwelling creature, sensing its pain, and freeing it. Haven't they already passed?

Exactly. Realizing that the tardigrade was sentient and releasing it despite how desperately they needed it, the lengths the crew went to to protect the Pahvans, even saving the endangered space-whale all point to humanity's general non-grievousness.

    Not guilty!

I submit that the creature was only released when it shut down and could no longer perform. It was then discarded with a packed lunch of rainbow spores and bloody big headache. This was not an act of compassion but a practical shift of direction. The victim was stripped of its very essence, its DNA... harvested without its permission.
