if sam becket quantum lept into captain archer would he know he wasnt sam becket since he woild always see his own face ?
Al: I've got bad news, Sam. Ziggy says you can't leap out of here until you fix all the problems with "These Are the Voyages." Sam: Oh, boy...
Quantum Leap Season 6 premiere crossover with Enterprise Season 5 premiere: "Who The What Now? Parts 1 and 2": Sam Beckett leaps into Captain Archer to put right something that will have once gone wrong: the Enterprise being sent into the past and tricked by one of the factions in the Temporal Cold War into interfering with the original creation of Project Quantum Leap. The consequences of which could be dire all around, as technology discovered by the Project lead to the warp technology pioneered by Zephram Cochrane. Guest starring Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown disguised as a Klingon warrior, who stows away aboard the Enterprise in order to prevent the untimely cancellation of two TV series he liked.
The ep said that Sam Becket never made it home, whoever that is. Our Sam, Sam Beckett, may well have gotten home.
^^^^Because if it was Sam Beckett, Trip would still be alive. It's what we are all waiting for actually. Sam to one day leap into Captain Archer during the events of "These Are the Voyagers" and put right what once went wrong. Al will of course be there smoking a stogie and after yelling at Gushi and palm slapping ziggy, Al will explain that Sam is there to stop Commander Charles Tucker III from dying before the forming of the Federation. Bingo Bango Bongo.
Not to be the one who takes the thread too seriously, but Sam couldn't Leap into Archer's body anyway due to it being outside his own lifetime. Although if Archer were a relative, there's a little wiggle room there like when Sam Leaped into his own ancestor during the Civil War. ...On top of all that, Sam only Leaps into the past (pre-1999), not the future.
Yeah if we're splitting hairs. My post was supposed to be a follow-on to this one: I just meant he'd never make it home if his task was fixing *that* problem.
I've thought before as well that the best opportunity for a QL crossover was the end of Zero Hour with the introduction of EVIL ALIEN NAZIS at the end.
Sam doesn't leap into other people's bodies. His mind and body always leap together. He's just surrounded by an aura which makes him look (and sound) like the people he leaps into. (As for why his clothes always fit? Dramatic license.) There's a fair amount of evidence which proves this theory: - Sam leaps in as a blind concert pianist, yet he can still see - As a Vietnam veteran with no legs, Sam can still walk, and in fact we actually see him do it - Sam frequently exhibits greater physical strength than the people he leaps into, should be able to have - When Sam is the pregnant teenage girl, he says (to Al) that he can't possibly be giving birth, can he? And Al replies, no, it's your body, not hers - In the Evil Leaper episodes, Zoey (the evil hologram) leaps herself, and is eventually shot. But it's Zoey herself who suffers the bullet, not the person she leaped into - she doesn't leap out until AFTER she's shot - Sam has a daughter whom he fathered on a leap. Bit difficult to do if it wasn't his body he was in. - The final episode? Sam leaps all by himself, no leapee.
