IDW Comics Recommendations?

I'm interested in checking out some of the IDW Star Trek comics tpbs. I definitely will be getting the New Frontier series, I wondered which other ones people recommended or which ones should I avoid and why.
I appreciate any input. I live way out in the country and have to do my book buying online so I won't have a chance to look thru the books before I buy them.

Of the miniseries IDW has done so far, I'd say the strongest are the Blood Will Tell and Alien Spotlight miniseries. The former is a look at the episodes "Errand of Mercy," "The Trouble with Tribbles," "A Private Little War," "Day of the Dove," and Star Trek VI from the Klingon perspective. The latter are six standalone issues that focus on a different alien species: the Gorn, the Vulcans, the Andorians, the Orions, the Borg, and the Romulans.

I haven't read Alien Spotlight, I'm waiting for it to come out in TP in May, but of the 3 trades I have read, Klingon, TNG: The Space Between and TOS: Year Four, the Klingon one is far and away the best.

Blood Will Tell and Alien Spotlight are definitely the winners of the four so far. If you Really like Trek comics there are stories in The Space Between and Year Four that are quite nice, but there is also rather a lot not to like in both series...

Thought I'd ressurrect this topic for a moment since the aforementioned Alien Spotlight trade paperback will be out this month. Stories are by yours truly, comics legend John Byrne, the celebrated Los Bros Tipton, as well as standout tales from writers James Patrick and Paul D. Storrie. (The Tiptons were also behind the Klingons miniseries that was mentioned.)

There's also some really stellar art (no pun intended) from the likes of Byrne; David Messina (Klingons); one of David's top-notch proteges, Elena Casagrande; Spanish artist Jose Beroy; as well as Trek colorist extraordinaire Len O'Grady handling full art duties on another issue; and some radically killer artwork (again, no pun) on the Borg book that I wrote by the awesome Sean Murphy.

The Alien Spotlight issues were some of the best reviewed Trek issues ever at IDW, and we were really proud of them, so definitely think about checking them out. I believe the in-store date is May 25. And, of course, the Klingons book is already on the shelves.
