Identity Crisis

Star Trek has had, literally, hundreds of guest stars through out the years. Some were great, others not so. What guest just seemed out of place to you. Not to say they were a bad actor/actress, but they just didn't seem to belong in a STAR TREK episode?

Andy Dick in Voyager ep "Message in a Bottle" I can't imagine that Dr. Zimmerman would have created such a lame EMH Mk II...

Joe Piscopo is out of place EVERYWHERE.

How about James Worthy? Come to think of it, he made a rather worthy Klingon.

Ooooh. Bad jokes, speaking of Joe Piscopo.

Jason Alexander on Voyager

I swear I don't even remember what that episode was about. All I could think about every time he appeared on screen was how out of place Jason Alexander was on Trek.

Yeah, for a guy who is such a big fan of TREK, he sure didn't fit in..totally agree..and I think I'd have to add Melvin Beligh, or what ever his name was, from THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD...I mean, what the hell was all that about???

Rob

How about the Rock? Sure, the guy is a decent actor now and all, but casting simply for UPN cross-promotional purposes was ridiculous.

Iggy Pop always seemed a little out of place to me when he was on that DS9 episode

I totally agree Kent..he had that 'what the f-ck is this show anyway?" look on his face...
:guffaw:

I think according to the DS9 Companion, Iggy Pop's shoulder joint had been injured prior to the filming of "The Magnificent Ferengi". Guy must have been in quite some pain.

Still, I think it added to his performance in what was a pretty fun episode overall, personally.

Joe Piscapo and The Rock. That was the worst cross promotion of another show I've ever seen. The less said about it, the better.

Though, I thought Jeffery Combs was good in it...but didn't that episode seem like that JLU episode when Superman had to fight that old gladiator on some world where it was televised to the mindless masses???

There's a tonne of episodes like that in almost every sci-fi/fantasy show.

True...it was a bit ARENAish...Would be an interesting list of movies/tvshows that had something in common with the 'fighting for the masses' motif...

Those two actors playing characters from the future in the Enterprise finale. What was that all about???

Saul Rubinek, I believe his name is, in "The Most Toys".

I found his twitchy performance off-putting, and if the intent was to be humorous, then given his later actions I might have opted for a less comical approach.

Until I saw him in SG-1 I didn't realize that the man was a halfway decent actor.
