Identifying Screen Used TNG Costumes?

Pastadude

Hey,

I was wondering if there were any surefire ways of identifying whether or not a costume was screen used in TNG, particularly regarding the 1-piece early season suits?

Let me know, help would be greatly appreciated!

I know of no surefire way, occasionally you will come across labels inside a garment which has handwritten notes by the wardrobe supervisor, i.e. name: Frakes lot: Riker

I do know that the genuine costumes used in the series ranged from $5000 to $10000 each and most of the cast had trouble securing keepsakes, for this reason there are a lot of fakes out there.

This is an art form. Costume tags help ascertain it is from production but now who might have worn it if anyone. You need distinct details that can be “screen matched”. Which is hard hard hard to find.

Do you have something you’re trying to match?
