I'd like to commission a "Gort" 3D mesh

Regardless of our various personal philosophies concerning things Trek, there is no denying here resides a wealth of artistic talent, particularly within the realm of digital modeling. With that in mind, I'm considering commissioning one of you to model a 3D mesh of Gort, the mute robotic sentinal from "The Day the Earth Stood Still".

I've never been able to find any "plan" or "elevation" styled blueprint drawings of the iconic design, but this page has a wealth of collectable images that should hopefully serve:

Actually, Redfern, I've recently been mentally researching how to build the mesh for a Poser Gort. I know you posed (NPI) this a couple years ago (at least!), but it's only lately that I'm beginning to think it might be something I could do. Not promising, of course, but it is on my "possible" list (along with Major Matt Mason and Fuzzies )

We should refrain from discussing it as a "commission" on the forum, though .

Not yet rigged for animation, but otherwise, pretty durn close to finished. Just in time for the rebake ...

As for the others (Bruce, you know who you are!), I've got my feelers out to experts in the field of Poser joints on how best to build the accordion pleats of the good Major's spacesuit, and I have a full set of patent documents depicting many of his vehicles and props , so modeling his sled, his jetpack, etc. should go pretty smoothly.
