As much as I know it is thrilling to see pictures of someone else's vacation, I thought people here would find this interesting. My girlfriend and I recently took a trip to Seattle to visit family, and to do touristy stuff. One of the most exciting things we did was visit the EMP Museum in downtown Seattle for their Icons of Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror exhibits. There were a number of exhibits with props from a number of shows and movies.
A caveat, the image quality isn't that great. We forgot the camera, and so relied on our phones for pics. Also, shockingly glass surfaces are very reflective.
The museum exterior with the monorail tunneling through part of the building.
The Space Needle. I totally geeked out and took a ton of pictures of this.
Weapons. I recognize the Bat'leth. The others, I am not sure of.
Robbie the robot, from Forbidden Planet.
Prop swords from The Princess Bride.
Mr. Pointy, from Buffy.
A bunch of guns. One was from the Wormhole Extreme episode of SG1.
Superman costume from the 70's film.
Data's uniform.
A critter from Critters 2. I had no idea this movie existed, but the prop is cool!
The captain's chair from TOS. Easily the coolest thing there!
A side view. You can't really tell here, but the control panels were in pretty bad shape.
Sheridan's uniform from B5.
A zenomorph from the original Alien. I have no idea if this is the actual costume or just a statue.
Not scifi, but this was a very cool sculpture. It stretched from the floor 50ft to the ceiling.
If anybody is in the area or going to Seattle, I highly recommend these exhibits. Enjoy!
