I want star wars 7 to be framed like the Hobbit

Let's face it, Fisher and Hammill, not so great, just got lucky way back when and did a pasable job. But they are such characatures of themselves now I don't think they can seriously pull it off.

I just want them to start the movie off like the Hobbit did. Old Solo Leia and Luke and say hey remember six months after the Battle of Endor? That was wild huh? and then give us new fresh young faces.

Have you read the casting call? Half the cast are very young people. It is going to be about new faces. Much as I like Ford, Fisher, and Hamill, I'd expect their roles in the new movie to be no larger than the roles for Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing in the first film.

As it should be at this point in the game.

While there's a part of me that will always be disappointed Lucas didn't do sequels with the main cast in the late 80's/early 90s, before they got too old for the action parts, I'm also okay with them using their kids as the stars and having the old guard pass the torch on to them.

Sorry, gang...

...but when I saw the thread title I misread it as...

"Star Wars 7 to be like 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'"

Now I keep recalling the fan art of Jessica Rabbit dressed in Leia's metal bikini!

Sincerely,

Bill

Perhaps we might even see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Force ghosts again. A merger of actors from the Prequel Trilogy and the Original Trilogy in cameo appearances.
