I want a underwater/submarine battle in a Star Wars film!

At this point I think we have seen every kind of vehicles vs vehicles type of battle we can imagine. Anyone think a underwater or even a battle at sea would be intresting and new? I know we got the ship going underwater in "Phantom Menace" but that was just a bunch of fish monsters trying to eat the ship. I wouldn't call that a battle.

Oh yes - in fact, when I doodled down what I'd like to see in a sequel to TFA, my ideas included the opening action sequence being at a peace conference on an underwater base.

They had three episodes of The Clone Wars (plus one short episode of the older Clone Wars (2003) cartoon) set on Mon Cala that were more or less huge underwater battles. Three Jedi, the Mon Calamari, Clone Troopers in scuba gear, and the Gungan Grand Army fighting Quarren, and Separatist droids (and shark people). These were the start of the fourth season of The Clone Wars.

I wouldn't say no to this, I mean how many times can we have the same X-Wing vs Tie fighter dogfight in a movie and it not become a little stale. I found the space battles in TFA quite dull and generic, despite the decent effects, but I thought the battle at the end of Rogue One was amazing, so where do you go from here in this regard? How do you top this in terms of scale and excitement? What few clips I saw of the space battle in TLJ trailer looked a little 'meh' but I appreciate it's short and the effects are probably not quite finished.

Point is, is that we've still got two more movies to go in this trilogy, and I'd like to see something a little different in terms of vehicle battles, so bring it on I say.

Sure. Why not.

Make it spectacular and meaningful.

By the way, the underwater scene in PM may have looked impressive, but it was just silly. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan did not bat an eye as those fish monsters attempted to gobble them up. That submarine scene looked like just another gratuitous cgi scene that Lucas put in the movie.

So, you're saying you want Sea Wars? Yeah that might be interesting for a scene or two.

There's going to be a scuba diving scene in episode 8. There was a scuba diving scene with Luke in the original story for episode 7 by Lucas and Arndt.
