I used hairspray -or- Things that are bad for you

So I used hairspray this morning, which always makes me feel a little guilty. My optometrist has told me many times that I should not use hairspray while my contacts are in or it could leave a residue on them, but I do it anyway. I realized that there are many things that I do on a regular, everyday basis that I have been specifically told is bad for me by a health care professional, authority, or possibly my mother. I’ve compiled a short list here, along with the person/people/entity that tells me I shouldn’t do, drink, eat, or even think about these things:

1. hairspray (optometrist)
2. tea (dentist, doctor)
3. diet coke (dentist, doctor)
4. orange juice (dentist)
5. talking on cell while driving (law enforcement)
6. Splenda (therapist, doctor)
7. sweets (doctor, dentist)
8. not stretching before exercising (personal trainer)
9. not getting enough sleep (doctor, mother, therapist)
10. writing on internet message board at work (employer)

And you?

I do a lot of those things too. Not a real big deal.

However, that hair spray and contact thing? Coming from some one who had a massive haemorrhage in my right eye which permanently destroyed most the retina. I would make not using hair spray while wearing contacts your one true religion.

1. driving car without seat belt (law enforcement)
2. eating meat (peta & Dr. & religious authorities)
3. being real (all the fakers)
4. suffering when I can. (life coaches)
5. organizing body motions (china gov)
6. assembling society in to something greater (anti-evolution pact)
7. making a list of thoughts and idea unknown before (people resistant to change)
8. judging what is, (the judges of what was)
9. reminding myself that the number 2 is less then the number 3 (first rule of abstract thought)
10. Not taking this topic seriously (the tread starter)
11. Not Allowing God to choose where I am (fraken freaks)
12. chewing my hand off (myself)
13. suicide (thought police)
14. dreaming I am alive but not knowing it (fakers of life's dream)

1. Tea (kidney stone doctor)
2. Non-fat-free potato chips (doctor)
3. Not exercising (everybody)
4. Not getting enough sleep (the voices in my head)
5. Dressing up in a costume and going out at night to battle the forces of Evil (sad, embittered cynics and fashion critics)

1 Bathe and brush twice daily
2 Drink lots of water

I figured it would save time and bandwidth just to list the things I do that are actually good for me.

Lets see,

Eating past 6pm,
Eating past 9pm,
Eating past 12pm,

I guess it depends when you go to bed, but I think youre supposed to give the stomach 3 hours to digest. I always eat late, bad habit of mine!

Chocolate (hips don't like)

I'm trying to do all the good things now though, and limit the chocolate :D

I don't do guilt.

Some of those things are hazardous, but it's still your life.

I thought the "should stretch before exercise" had been debunked.

Most of the gulit-trippers do "bad" stuff themselves, whether or not they choose to see their actions as bad.

So to hell with them.
