Honey, if you bring the wine we can talk like this all night *lady~like hiccup*

Oh "The bird within a bird within a bird"... must go a check on it...

Bloody cat!

My father works for Ducati, so I'm quite familiar with MotoGP. ;)
And now I want to marry you ~ or your father! Especially as Vale will be with Ducati next season. Any chance of Mugello tickets? and what are your B&B rates? :mallory:
No discount on racing ticket, as my father isn't employed directly by Ducati but by an outside services company (he worked for Ferrari and other industries, too). My old room at my parents' house is available, tho: you just have to put up with my father talking about soccer all day, and my mother frying in olive oil every single food item in the house. Two of the many reasons I'm happy to live on my own now.

So has it become a bird within a bird within a bird within a cat?

Not touching that! So is it now to be Chinese takeout? It hardly matters if we have enough spirits! :techman:

Maclaus, what is traditional Christmas pudding?

Here's a link: http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/cuisine/european/english/traditional-christmas-pudding.html

In simple terms it's a steamed fruitcake, traditionally laced with alcohol. None of my kids will go near anything resembling fruitcake, which comes in handy for me and my husband. ;) I keep meaning to make one myself but you have to start weeks before Christmas and I never remember on time.

I have never even tasted one but somehow I know that I'll love it when I get to --- It just sounds so fantastic!

Being steamed, they're very moist and relatively heavy, unlike normal fruit cake which is lighter and drier in comparison.

It is the fruit which absorbs the moisture, which makes the fruit soft and causes it to impart its flavour to the cake. Combined with spices and alcohol, and being served hot, it is a very rich and fruity pudding. :)

They're quite easy to make nowadays, because microwave ovens are ideal for rapid steaming.

I decided to make a christmas cake this year. This is my first full size christmas cake, and it has turned out quite well.

It has taken me quite a few years to conjure up a recipe for cake without using animal products. My early attempts were not very successful, but as I've perfected my recipe now I decided to make a big cake to enjoy this year.

My first slice has been eaten today. 15 more slices to go. :p

The bird is, indeed, the word. :)

*flicks middle finger* knowing MLB loves her and does not mind her "giving him the bird" :p

In that case I don't want to marry you anymore! :p

I love you two too man, woman ~ whatever... What we need now is David Essex and Tequila *does her version of the tango and trips over the cat who is trying to steal "The bird within a bird within a bird"*

So has it become a bird within a bird within a bird within a cat?

It would seem it has *frantically starts plucking cat* and covering it with lard...

Your thread reminds me of an easter egg found in Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother album which contains a Traditional Bedouin Wedding Feast recipe:

It reminds me of a song about an old lady who swallowed a fly.

From a culinary perspective, at the end of the song you'd have a fly within a spider within a bird within a cat within a dog within an old lady.

Sounds like you need Momma Iguana's skills with cooking anything in olive oil after all :D

And what's wrong with lard? :p
(It was free from work ~ considerably less expensive than the goose fat Man wanted

:guffaw:I wish to go to my butcher and ask for a pre-prepared camel!

It's 3.30am. I cannot sleep. The 'bird within a bird...' is safe in the fridge. The king prawn ring is defrosting. The puddings are prepared. The espresso cups for the 'Japanese tea ceremony' have been cleaned and are on the side table. The cutlery has been polished all I have to do now is iron the table cloth ~ I think I may do that in the morning.

K'Eh ~ thanking that it isn't Christmas everyday!

I'm not big on spider ~ or old lady come to that
