I need your prayers and mojo.

Hey all. I'm not sure if this kind of stuff even works but I figure that it can't hurt.

My father really needs every prayer, every thought and every bit of mojo right now. He was diagnosed with colon cancer early last year and he had a bowel resection and every indication was good and that the cancer was gone.

We got the news this Tuesday that the cancer has now spread to his liver and possibly to his lungs. Its a fist sized mass on his liver and its not looking good. He has an appointment with a specialist this Monday to determine if surgery is a viable option. It's a long shot at best but if they can remove it from his liver and if the spots on the lungs are benign then he has a good chance of living for another 20-25 years.

If not then he has 3 to 9 months to live.

I'm not asking for my sake, but I am asking for his and my mother's. Any thought, any wish or prayer would be appreciated.

My Dad is in a similar boat: tumors all over the stomach, pancreas, and spleen. All organs which have been partially or totally removed.

I can definitely empathize. Hang in there buddy.

:(

Good luck to your Dad, Sparky, and to yours as well, SmoothieX. I'm hoping for the best possible outcome.

You're all in my prayers. :techman:

I know how this feels - my dad had prostate cancer (fortunately it was treated early) and the thought of losing him scared me. Still does, in fact. But don't ever feel that you're alone, because you're not.

Thank you all for your support and kind words. It is both a comfort and a sick feeling knowing that others are going through the same thing though. SmoothieX I wish nothing but the best news for you and your family so I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts as well. Mr. Laser Beam I really hope that your dad has beaten it for good. I don't wish this emotional rollercoaster on anyone.

I feel kind of selfish posting such a me oriented thread. I guess I just needed to vent. Once again, thank you for your thoughts and I hope to have good news on Monday.

Sparky,

God Bless your dad and my prayers go out to him and for your whole family. Just know that God has a plan and will take care of your dad no matter what.

Try and hang in there. All my best.
