I met Strax and Jenny today...

..ok I met Dan Starkey and Catrin Stewart today, but still it was very cool. Also saw Sophie Aldred and John Leeson at the Brit Sci-Fi event at the Space Centre in Leicester.

Starkey is very funny, and he can, it seems, segue into the Strax voice at a moment's notice. Catrin is even lovelier in real life. John Leeson is quite amusing and Sophie...boy she can rabbit on! Me and my friends have a running joke about George Takai's passport story going on a bit, but it now has some competition from Sophie's "How I got the job of Ace" story! She's v protective of JNT.

Got Catrin and Dan's autographs and had my photo taken with them. I would have got Sophie's but my budget was needed elsewhere (several Blakes 7 alumni) and I couldn't not get Dan Starkey's autograph given he's A/Strax and B/a Starkey (like me) and we did have a brief discussion about whether we might be related

It takes 3 hours to turn him into Strax apparently!

Anyway it was a fun day with lots of Daleks and Cybermen milling about as well.

Wow, so cool, sounds awesome. I've actually never had a Convention Attendance :alienblush: :(

I had the chance to meet Colin Baker (who I've already met), Nicola Bryant and Mark Strickson (who I'm mates with anyway) yesterday but I couldn't get away in time. Ah well. Next year.

Only Doctor Who people I've ever met are John Barrowman & Jeremy Bulloch (better known as Boba Fett but he guest starred a couple times in "The Space Museum" & "The Time Warrior"). I've been in the same room with Paul Cornell a couple times but I didn't get any 1-on-1 time.

To be fair I didn't get much one on one time :)

^^That might explain why Nicola Bryant pulled out of the event in Leicester if she was double booked.

I haven't been to a whole heap of conventions, helps that Brit Sci Fi is very close by, and they get a good bunch of guests, Paul McGann was there Sunday along with the Red Dwarf crew (but I only did Saturday, the whole thing becomes a bit expensive after a while!) :)

^Oh, any news about another season of RD?!

I don't get to many conventions but did go to the 50th Celebration in London last November. I met so many Who stars. Mostly classic series stars from all eras of the show. From the new series, did get a photo with Matt Smith and met Jenna.

Er, like I said I only did Saturday so no idea :) Three of them were there last year and they did suggest that there would be a new series, however it was a case of them all having the time to do it, so schedule wise it might take a while. No idea if the situation's changed.
