I Love Weapons

Sorry but I do. Found an interesting website that identifies which modern weapons were used in various science fiction TV and movie production, including Star Trek. The site covers all five Star Trek series and two of the movies (TVH and FC). Here is the page for DS9.

A more general listing.

In addition to describing which gun were use, there are occaional descriptions on how the guns were modified to appear more "futuristic." Stories about which actors carried which weapons in which episodes (Jack Hardness kept switching "his" gun). Also there are notes on why certain weapons were chosen.

For example, Stargate SG-1 switched to the FN P90 partially because the spent casings eject downward, and the production crew didn't have to worry about the flying brass striking the surrounding actors or the filming equipment.

Thought I'd share.

:)

thank you for sharing, I just took up shooting as a hobby in the last year and this site is a really neat read.

Very interesting site. I particularly like the Star Wars entry. I did not realize so many historical weapons were used as templates.

I'm pretty fond of most every kind of weapon too so thanks for the link. :)

I have an airsoft version of the P90, very nice gun.

Nice  but the other commenters don't seem to think so.

That Otter is even more stubborn than the squirrel(s) that keep coming into our garden.

^Turned out the commenter was a wise guy I know from Wordforge.net busting my chops. I wish we could delete comments.

Nothing good ever came out of that place, so I'm not surprised. Invite him here, to TNZ...

WF was created as place to flee TO, FROM the oppression of TNZ. :borg:

Oh, and...

That's my real AR-15, which I sold back when NJ was stupidly banning such things.
