I have discovered "The Big Bang Theory"

I was going to wait till the summer to watch this but after hearing a glowing review from my house-mate, I could not resist and started yesterday. I have watched the first 10 episodes and oh sweet lord its good

Its easily already become one of my favouite comedy shows and I cannot believe just how the funny the whole show is and being a geek myself (ok not quite there level of cleverness) it makes the entire show even more enjoyable.

CBS please move it back to 8:30pm next fall cause I would like to see many years of TBBT.

:techman:

I may have to give this one another shot, but I watched a couple of episodes and really didn't care for it. I have talked to some people who just love it, so maybe I caught some bad ones.

honestly, I still watch, but don't care as much about it as before. It's starting to feel like it's already beating the same material to death. We get it, nerds make nerdy science or sci-fi jokes, and are awkward around girls. Feels more and more like a one-liner instead of a sustainable premise...

It's basically The Odd Couple, but with nerds. Leonard's the straight man and Sheldon's the "wacky" one. I guess it depends if you enjoy the wrapping around it or not. I mean, people watched Frasier for 11 years... and that was just about an uptight dude with a blue collar father.

While I'm still enjoying it immensely, it would seem perhaps the general viewing audience may agree with you, as evidenced in Mark's "Monday Night Ratings" thread.

I love this show. As a matter of fact, right now I am watching Fuzzyboots (Ep 3) on itunes right now.

The jokes are great! Penny is adorable.

EXACTLY!

The Sci-Fi jokes in here are brilliant and endless! I am amazed that this board doesn't love this show!

There's a poster at this board who seems a lot like Big Bang Theory's Sheldon. He's rather humorless, and annoyingly pedantic when it comes to scientific matters. Of course, I shall not name him, so don't ask.

^^^Don't kid yourself---nobody human is like Sheldon. Like Chuck Lorre's other show, Two and a Half Men, these are caricatures, not characters. Since conflict is the essence of comedy, the clash with reality fits.

^^^Any real human beings slandered by being compared to a caricature come to mind pretty quickly.

Of course no one really cares about anything on a bbs. Isn't the question a little pedantic?

Sorry, but do you mean a purely hypothetical group of people who might be offended in some strange way by The Big Bang Theory? Give us their names so that we can mock them directly.

Just say you don't really enjoy the show, and we'll leave it at that.

I love this show!! Wait until you see the episode with the time machine. LOL

Saw that earlier, am loving this show more and more with each episode....

"Is it cause am Jewish, cause I'd kill my Rabiah with a pork chop to be with your sister"

:guffaw:

This show is a lot of fun. Every ep gets lots of laughs from me, and the Time Machine episode was fantastic--what a fantastic prop!
