I got two books

Normally, I get Star Trek books few and far between. But yesterday, I bought two of them. Which should I read first?

Captain's Glory

Before Dishonor

Any thoughts?

Haven't read either yet, but Glory seems to be getting a better reception than BD around here.

Of course, both are entries in ongoing series (the Shatnerverse and the TNG Relaunch, respectively), so if you haven't been keeping up I don't know how you'll find them.

I have read the previous Shatner novels, but not any of the TNG relaunch titles. Will I have any trouble reading it?

You will have no trouble reading either one. Since you've read the other Shatner books, you may as well read CG while you still remember the storyline. After you finish that one, definitely read BD. The majority opinion on this board may not reflect your own.

Before Dishonor
Any thoughts?

"Before Dishonor" works quite well if you think of it as a sequel to PAD's "Vendetta" (the old "giant" novel - back before the regular MMPBs began to get as giant as the "giants"), and it also works fine as a standalone.

I think you should go out and get Death in Winter, Resistance, and Q & A, and read them before reading Before Dishonor -- or at the very least, get Q & A first. *nodsnodsnods*

I'm sorry to tell you, then, that I almost bought Q&A instead of BD. I promise I'll pick it up after I'm done with these.

I just finished "Captains Glory" and thought it was pretty good. Kind of a guilty pleasure thing. It's like a super-hero team up in the comics. It's cool to have characters from other shows interact.
