I found 3 old books that I have never gotten over.

Some book titles I have never gotten over and I found them all in second hand books over the years.

The Crysalids - Why wasn't this ever made into a movie?

The Gizmo From Outer Space - boy finds a space radio on the ground

On The Flipside - Animals go wild interdimensional monsters attack Earth. People leave Earth and yeah this would have been a fun movie.

As I recall, The Crysalids by John Wyndham was also published as Re-Birth. And, yeah, I remember it fondly, too.

When I was a kid, one of my English teachers actually refused to accept any more book reports on John Wyndham from me, just to force me to read somebody else! :)

Oh I just remembered another story I read called Compassion Circuit where a robot saved the dead wife of her master by giving her a robot body, head was the only human part left.

As I recall, there were a few abortive attempts to make a Crysalid film. At least one each of feature and TV. They never came to anything. Happens a lot.

I wish some director/producer or combo thereof would go on a Heinlein binge. I enjoyed Starship Troopers for what it was, but what I really want to see is film versions of Tunnel In The Sky and The Starbeast. And perhaps finally a film version of Stranger in a Stange Land. Add in Time Enough For Love and The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress for added fun.

I like those choices

Yeah with today's social media thing and tolerance and stuff and all Chrysalids would be the perfect story about love and tolerance and acceptance, even though most of the different people in that story are shunned or worse.
