I don't know about Amazon's customer service anymore...

I was doing an Amazon search for the new 4400 book by Dilmore and Ward, Wet Work. One of the results showed an explicit cover for a pornographic video called Wet and Ready, Vol 3. I wrote them saying I'm not sure that's too cool as I'm sure some people are going to be offended, just letting them know. The response I got back was:

I'm sorry to hear that you dislike the feature on our All Product Search that filters out adult-themed products, and hope that it will not interfere too greatly with your future use of our web site.

I wasn't writing to say I disliked the filter. I was writing to tell them it's not working.

Somebody must have did something farther up the chain as the cover no longer shows up while doing the search. But still, lame reponse...

So, you punched in our name and got porn links?

Thought you would have that reaction.

Got tired of waiting for it to show up in the local stores so I just ordered it with some other stuff that came out recently. I'm really looking forward to reading it.

What? ;)

Wow, that is why I always make sure I go straight to the section the product I'm looking for is in. Although, I guess that wouldn't help when your looking for something in the same category as the stuff you are avoiding.

I didn't want to be the first person our new moderator gives a warning to, or flat out bans. :)

Unless you're Chase Masterson, you should have nothing to worry about.
I knew Emh was just hiding.

This is the greatest forum ever. There is almost nothing for Rosalind and I to do most of the time. Keep it up guys (and gals). :techman:
You say that now. Just wait until the porn spam starts again, or Dayton3 decides to return from mourning over Obama's victory. :p

Back to the OP's main point...that's definitely a big pet peeve of mine, when customer service reps--especially online--show so blatantly that they haven't even read your complaint and respond in a manner that is so disjointed from one's original comments. Very rude indeed.

I always call them on it, when I get a response like that. I send a new e-mail, copying both my original question and their "non-response" response, and point out that they clearly weren't paying attention and just as clearly don't care about my patronage. I find that this works slightly more than half the time - but even when it doesn't work, it still makes me feel better!
