I could use some cheering up

Capn Flukie

I've been going through a lot of crap the past six months, and I'm afraid it's going to hit the fan soon. Some of you know what I'm talking about. I'm really depressed and near the end of my rope.

I know if I can just keep my wits about me, I *can* get through this, but my brain is so mired in the muck, it's just spinning it's wheels.

So, I ask of you my TrekBBS buddies, could you just post some jokes, funny pics, tell a funny story, something that might pick me up some. Words of wisdom are welcome too.

Hey bro, I don't know what your problems are but I wish you luck. Keep your chin up and hopefully there are better days ahead.

Thanks tsq that was really cute, it sure is raining in my life, and when it rains, it pours.

Thank you TheLonelySquire, I hope there will be. I'm usually known for being positive and optimistic, but I can only take so much.

eta; thanks K'ehleyr and goldbug.

This guy is about to have a bad day:

In the last 2 years I've been wading through all manner of shit, some of which I've mentioned on here. While each day has its own badness, it's the moments that get me through. A stunning sunset. Clouds in amazing abstract patterns deep in the sky. A joke A song. A TV series (working my way through 'Frasier' and 'West Wing' right now). Anticipation of something coming (for me, the 3 Dr Who specials between now and year's end). Hang in there, recognise the moments when they come, and take the time to appreciate them. It's kept me going, maybe it'll do the same for you.

Flukie, having just joined the forums i'm not privy to what problems are getting you down. Sometimes life is just crap and far too overwhelming for it's own good. I'm telepathically giving you a 'hang in there' hug :)

A man is a restaurant and he calls over the waiter and says, "Waiter, try the soup."

The waiter says, "What? Does it taste bad?"
Guy says, "No, try the soup!"
The waiter says "Is it too cold?"
Guy says, "No, try the soup!"
The waiter says, "Is it too hot?"
The guy says, "No, try the soup!"
The waiter saysm "Ok, give me a spoon."
The guy says, "Ah-ha!"

No good?

I tried.

;)

Thanks, mickmike. :) That's what's getting me the most really, just being overwhelmed, and the more I try, the harder it seems to get, like one of those Chinese finger puzzles, or quicksand.

Lindley, I think I've found my new favorite show. That is so totally my type of humor. :D Thanks.

eta; Shatmandu I always thought Kirk would be more of a 'Vogue' dancer. :)

Trekker "Waiter, what's this fly doing in my soup?" "It appears to be the backstroke, sir."

Sorry to hear about the rough times, Flukie. You of all people deserve better and I'll keep rooting for you. In the mean time, here are some pictures of funny Engrish signs.

An old man comes home to his wife with a handful of flowers and the wife says, "Oh, I guess you want me to spread my legs for you tonight."

The old man replies, "Why? Don't we have a vase?"

I've got some hugs for you too:

And the wonderful story behind this last hug: These twins were born premature, and while one was thriving in NICU, the other was doing badly. As the weaker twin was dying, the doctors, with nothing to lose, put the other twin next to its sibling. The stronger twin put its arm around the weaker, and almost immediately, the weaker twin's condition began to improve. Both survived. That story always makes me feel a little better about the world, and the power of humanity. Hope it helps you feel a little better too! :)
