I burglarized my parents' house today.

I snuck in while they were gone and snatched a box of super 8 filmstrips from the late 70s/early 80s. I'm going to have them transferred to dvd as a Christmas present. Thankfully, each one is labeled with the date and event, so they'll be able to place them in chronological order. Hopefully they'll be so pleased with the final product that they won't be annoyed that I was digging through their stuff while they were out, lol. I can't wait to see these again.

Once I was visiting my Godmother and, while leaving, accidentally locked myself out while she wasn't home. Since I had to get to the airport and my suitcase was inside, waiting for her to return from church wasn't an option.

But then I remembered that the room I slept in had an open window. The second-floor room. So, trying to look casual, I grabbed a ladder from the garage, took it around the house, and climbed in the window. Once I had my bag outside I put the ladder back.

Rather glad no one seemed to see that....

Hmm... never broke into my parents house, but did have to 'break' into my own: my daughter was 2 or 2 1/2, and I went to get the mail. Well, she wasn't one of those onery kids or anything, but she ended up locking the front door! Luckily the front window wasn't locked and I crawled in thru there, but I was totally panicked! For the longest time after that, I never left the house without my keys... including just oging to the mailbox :)

Well, I didn't really have to "break in." I do have keys to the place. :rommie: I just thought the thread title would be funny.

I did that one year (had the old 8mms transferred onto vhs) when we all had vhs. It was so cool watching the old home movies. Nerdius, i think that's a great gift!

What's wrong with the much simpler word burgled?
That's funny, because I do say "burgled" alot, jokingly. It's such a goofy word. Kind of like how I sometimes say "raper" instead of rapist, even though that's not a real word, like burgled.

The transfer looks good! I had the exact same sandbox

Oh I need to find my parents' and grandparents' old film now! Gosh, I remember those bright lights that had to be held and then the film camera on a tripod
