I built a functional LCARS terminal for an AI coding tool — voice, sound effects, Red Alert, Q

Long-time LCARS obsessive, finally had a reason to build something real with it.

It's a fully functional operations dashboard for Claude Code (an AI coding CLI by Anthropic). It scans your development setup and renders everything as a TNG LCARS interface, authentic color palette, rounded elbows, pill buttons, Antonio typeface standing in for Swiss 911.

In live mode there's a COMPUTER bar at the bottom. You type, it responds as the ship's computer. Voice output, synthesized LCARS sound effects via Web Audio API, boot sequence with ascending beeps, Red Alert with flashing border and klaxon when systems go offline.

Q appears uninvited every few minutes to roast you.

Getting the elbows right was its own rabbit hole. Happy to talk through any of the LCARS implementation details if anyone's interested.
