HuuuuuWHA? (Possible spoilers for specials)

If they bring Donna back for anything other than a flashback story, I'll probably give it a miss - it'll destroy any and all impact of her leaving. There are no more stories for her - it was stated on screen that to bring back her memories will kill her. To "get around" that will be suckage, on a major level.

I wonder if that is part of the reason why we are getting so few Donna books

I really hope that these rumors aren't true, too. The scene between the Doctor and Wilfred at the end of "Journey's End" was so touching, so haunting and beautiful...

"But every night... when it gets dark, and the stars come out, I'll look up. On her behalf. I'll look up at the stars... and I'll think of you."

To bring Donna and Wilfred back would just ruin the tragic beauty of the show.

hey they ruined "doomsday's" ending by bringing Rose back I wouldn't be surprised if they ruined Donna's farewell aswell with her being back

GMTV have just reported the movie and the Catherine Tate thing. I know they aren't Newsnight, but I'm feeling hopeful. I want to see more Donna. :)

I don't follow the books, but if that's the case then it's a shame, as there's no reason you can't keep setting books in the Donna era. But bringing her back on TV and undoing that finale would ruin it, IMO. The scene with the Doctor and Wilf was powerful stuff.

Then again, you can bring Donna back without ruining the end of season 4. She doesn't have to meet the Doctor or remember him in the special, Wilf and Donna could have a B-plot with Wilf trying to prevent Donna from remembering. Or she could remember and die...
It's much more in the realm of possibility than bringing back the Master...

Any possibility of more Wilf is an excellent thing. :)

I wouldn't argue with that, I loved both Donna and Wilf to bits, but if you're gonna bring them back why so soon- especially Donna. If Tate wanted a continuous role she should have agreed to do more than one season (And I so wish she had)

I agree, they have done over 10 Martha books as it is, no reason to stop Donna at 4.

If you read her interview in the latest DWM, she says she enjoyed it so much that she'd have been happy to do a second year, but with the specials already planned that never seemed to be an option (and, presumably, Russell already had the season ending in mind from the start).

Did anyone stop to think that the other universe with the cloned Doctor might have a Donna, Wilf and (long stretch) a master?

It shouldn't have the Master; I thought that the Doctor made clear back in "Rise of the Cybermen" that there was only the one set of Time Lords, spanning all the universes.

Yeah, but if the master of our universe didn't die, who's to say he didn't cross over when the barriers where down?

He would have an entire universe to play with that had (to his knowledge) no doctor.

I just realized if you say the thread title backwards, you get the Doctor Who theme.

I don't particularly think these rumors are true, and furthermore, I believe the OP smells like cheese.
