Husband accidentally shoots wife during sex

Also this reminds me of one time I got seriously pissed off at a guy I was dating...he picked me up one night when I was drunk and we went back to his place, and I woke up the next morning and noticed a gun on his nightstand, right next to where I had been sleeping. I kind of poked it and went, "Is this real?"
"Yeah."
"Is it loaded?"
"Yeah."
"Uh, and you didn't think it might have been a good idea to put it out of reach of the drunk girl that was going to come over and sleep in this spot?"

He didn't have an answer. I can't even describe how angry I was at this.

Angry at him?

You were the drunk one - placing yourself in a position so irresponsibly (both position as in "state of mind" as well as in "next to a loaded gun") is ultimately your fault. He could've been a little less negligent, sure - but you were just downright irresponsible.

Why should it be his responsibility to clean up after your mess? Sounds like the fault was yours, not his.

The hell? She wasn't the one with the damned gun. It was his gun, therefore his responsibility to take care of, and his gun to keep well the fuck AWAY from innocent people. :scream:

Being drunk is no excuse to have loaded guns pointed at someone. And make no mistake, that gun was pointed at her, in a very real sense. This guy leaves a loaded gun, in the room, where it could accidentally go off? How is that NOT dangerous and irresponsible for that asshole to do?

Thank you. :) For a moment I thought I was alone here.

Absolutely not! I've got your back. Well, not literally...dammit. :( ;)

People are trying to blame you just because you happened to be drunk, but that's no excuse for this loser to go waving a gun at you. Perhaps he didn't *technically* do that, but the mere act of leaving the gun in the room is bad enough. He's lucky you didn't find the gun and shoot *him*. Because if you had, I'd understand...

Ha, I've never even held a real gun before...I've never even shot a BB gun. I mean, I'm sure I could figure it out, but I'm guessing my aim would be crap. And I'm pretty sure I'd never shoot anyone...unless they're a zombie. :shifty:

Given the man's history, my opinion is rape at gunpoint.

I know there are gun fetishes, and guns are sexy in American culture ( just look at action movie posters: an armed guy and a sexy girl ) but I don't get sexually aroused by them. I do get a rush from hitting targets in competition shooting, though. If you really, really, need a gun to enjoy sex, get an airsoft gun. This is still not a wise idea but it is less dumb than using a real one.

My guns are always under my control. I have a gun safe for them ( In California it is illegal to store guns in a safe that is not Calif. Dept of Justice certified ). I don't just leave them lying around. If I thought I needed a gun at my bedside I'd use one of those four button safes that spring open.

Safety rule number one: All guns are always loaded, even if they have no ammo in them. Follow this rule. I think everyone should know how to safely unload a gun.

I've heard of really insecure folks who stash guns everywhere in the house... in the kitchen, the living room, by the toilet, and ( my favorite ) in a waterproof container in the shower!! Disaster waiting to happen...

Every now and then you read news stories about guys who have accidental discharges while in a store bathroom. These fellows will swear 'it just went off' every time. The theories I subscribe to are either the fellow was playing with the gun while on the throne or as he let his pants down the pistol fell out of its holster and the guy tried to catch it, but snagged the trigger.
