Humour in the novels

Bits I remember liking:

- The "Thallonian embassy" sequence in... End Game, I think (one of the first four New Frontier books at any rate)
- Sisko, Scotty, and Worf drinking Scotch in A Gutted World
- when Tev decides that Gomez is in love with him in Small World (I laughed so hard at that the first time I read the book)
- oh, and almost everything Tev thinks in Creative Couplings

ETA: Actually, all the bits of Gold wedding planning in CC. I read it over Christmas break, and my fiancée had to suffer through me reading her almost every scene.

After The Fall. (A lot of people think New Frontier has steadily declined; I thought so until we got to the run of hardcovers starting with Stone And Anvil, all of which I think are genuinely fantastic. After The Fall is the funniest of the three, though, for sure.)

So many from Peter David.

The idea of the Enterprise security being attacked by AA Milne characters, not to mention Riker's line to Worf before they go, is one of my favourite moments in Trek lit, let alone Q-Squared.

There are some great moments with Sulu in The Captain's Daughter, as well, such as when he is facing off with the villain thinking the whole thing was set up by Chekov.

Wow, pretty much all of the New Frontier books have some good funny scenes in them. Q-Squared was good to, and sticking with the Q theme, Q & A, especially Q's answer when Picard asks why Q made him Robin Hood. I think that scene will stick in my mind for a very long time.
