Huge Mistake

Hiya, folks.

Earlier today, in a thread, I saw a link to Nimoy's "Bilbo Baggins" "song."

I thought, "Hey, I haven't seen that piece of steaming shit in a while, I'll check it out."

Huge mistake: it is stuck in my head. Now, every so often, I shriek out "BILLLLLLLLLBO! BILLLLLBO BAGGINS, BRAVEST LITTLE HOBBIT OF THEM ALL!!!"

I'm offering my very soul to the person or persons who kills me quick. I'll even supply the fake pointed ears and matching t-shirts with names on them.

Joe, suicidal

Since I have to read this thread I'd very much appreciate it if people refrained from posting lyrics. Many of us here suffer from a dormant case of Bilbo Baggins Syndrome and exposure to said lyrics could trigger a complete relapse.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. :)

"He was chased by wolves, lost in the forest, escaped in a barrel from the Elf King’s halls..."

Sweet muscular Jesus! The lyrics are available on the internet. Someone actually sat, listened to the words, and typed the following:

In the middle of the earth in the land of the Shire
lives a brave little hobbit whom we all admire.
With his long wooden pipe,
fuzzy, woolly toes,
he lives in a hobbit-hole and everybody knows him

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Now hobbits are a peace-lovin' folks you know
They don't like to hurry and they take things slow
They don't like to travel away from home
They just want to eat and be left alone
But one day Bilbo was asked to go
on a big adventure to the caves below,
to help some dwarves get back their gold
that was stolen by a dragon in the days of old.

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Well he fought with the goblins!
He battled a troll!!
He riddled with Gollum!!!
A magic ring he stole!!!!
He was chased by wolves!!!!!
Lost in the forest!!!!!!
Escaped in a barrel from the elf-king's halls!!!!!!!

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Now he's back in his hole in the land of the Shire,
that brave little hobbit whom we all admire,
just a-sittin' on a treasure of silver and gold
a-puffin' on his pipe in his hobbit-hole.

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

The Ever-Lovin' End

The phrasing he uses on "fuzzy, woolly toes" makes me want to punch babies.

I once attempted to listen to it.

Got as far as the first couple of lines and shut it off.

Worse than "Bitter Dregs"

Imagine Nelson Maldela singing "The Locomotion" while cavorting with smiling, white hippie-chicks, and you'll be close to the impact "Bilbo" had on me as a very young man.

Joe, easier to do than your ABCs

My wife and I stumbled across Nimoy's great work of, ahem, musical "art" about a year ago and just looked at each other in disbelief as to what we were hearing. I STILL have no words for the stunning awfulness of the "Baggins" song...

*Sent along with the above lyrics*
You guys are hurting me here. Can't all just go have a nice Helen Noel thread or something?

Oh God.

I'd rather ten Helen Noel threads.

Thanks a lot. Now that song is going through my head. And that picture posted?

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Any plans on use this in the current Middle East war ?

It'd be over quick like after constant replay from low flying hellicopters.

Also play Shatner's rendition of "Lucy In The Sky" lord they'd surrender just to make it stop.
