How Would You Introduce Captain Jack to the Eleventh Doctor?

Considering Moffat is the person who CREATED Jack's character, I'd say we haven't seen the last of him (coupled with the huge success of the recent Torchwood mini-series).

^ Is that actually confirmed...second time I've seen someone state that. Moffat wrote the episode we know but did he come up with Captain Jack?

RTD was the one who created him. He was originally going to be named Jax -- that was his name in the season outline to the BBC. I know Moffat had input into the character since he wrote his first episodes, but he originates with Davies.

^ This is what I thought. I like the dynamic that Jack had with both Doctor's that he has encountered and obviously the Tenth tried to avoid him like a bad case of warts because of what Rose had done to him in "Parting of the Ways". It would be interested to see how the Eleventh Doctor handles Jack. I wonder if he'd bother disabling his Time Vortex Manipulator since it has proven to be useless in the past and Jack just keeps on reactivating it.

I seem to recall a quote by RTD stating that he wasn't going to touch the missing years of Jacks life because he considered Moffat to be in charge of the character and where he came from.
Note I don't think this is to do with ownership rights or anything

Having the 11th Doctor being responsible for Jack's 2-year amnesia is too fanwanky.

I would agree...although if Jack returns, I would like there to be some degree of interaction lasting more than a moment in which Jack has no idea that 11 is the Doctor regenerated...

I thought about this before and how they can incorporate Jack into Moff Who.

Im all for seeing how Jacks character evolves, just like The Doctors character has all these years. Itll be a shame to do a prequel. Barrowman has worked hard to flesh out this character and ittl be a shame for him to start again with a prequel.

That was me a few weeks back in the thread the same thread that he couldnt find. About re-introducing Jack. :alienblush:

I said it because it was a Moff ep, but in hindsight, we dont know if The Moff invented Jack or it was RTD saying "Put a gay man in wartime London, Steven."

Just did a quick scout, its in the 'companions other than Amy' thread...

IIRC RTD's original character brief was that the character would be an alien in disguise as a human called Captain Jaxx as a morally ambiguous character.
