How Would You Introduce Captain Jack to the Eleventh Doctor?

I did a quick search and couldn't find a thread on this (even though I swear I've seen one) and just watched "The Doctor Dances" and listened to the audio commentary with John Barrowman and Steven Moffat. I'm convinced now more than ever Jack should meet the Eleventh Doctor (probably gonna have to happen in series six due to John Barrowman's Desperate Housewives commitment and the fact that all of this series episodes seem to have been filled) since he has been with the previous two.

We know that each time that Jack has encountered the Doctor he has revitalized Jack and made him determined to be a better person. The End of Time seemed to be a small way of saying that the Doctor understood what happened to him and forgave him in a way by hooking him up with Alonso noting that they both needed each other. I could see an adventure with the Eleventh Doctor and Amy (if Amy returns next series...not sure if this has been confirmed yet) where they run into Jack either by himself or with Alonso and this leads Jack to rebuild Torchwood and reunited with Gwen and Rys. What does everyone else think of this? I'm already Jack starved now.

I'd probably approach it the same sort of way Rusty did in Utopia, have Jack find the TARDIS and then see the Doctor come out and Doctor say 'hi' or something and Jack say, 'oh, you've regenerated again, then'

Well as I've said before, I'd have 11 meet time agent Jack, and be direcly responsible for Jack losing the 2 years of his memory.

As much as I hate the idea of going backward in Jack's character arc, we really do need to see more of the non-linear-time aspect of The Doctor's existence. This would be a great way to explore it.

^ Ooooh that's a good idea I never thought about that...and the memory loss thing hasn't been resolved yet even in Torchwood I like that idea.

I actually like Captain Jack but I like him better in Torchwood as I find his performances to be a bit over the top in Doctor Who. I wouldn't be upset if he never appears in Who again. I hope we haven't seen the last of Torchwood (the series) though.

I like Jack in both Torchwood and Doctor Who I just feel like a meeting with the Doctor and Amy would be epic. I think its going to be a wait for more Torchwood unfortunate. I kind of like Jack running into the Doctor and Amy and not recognizing The Doctor's new incarnation. They just kind of run into each other while Jack is on some kind of mission...maybe trying to find out about his memory.

Actually the more I think about it I think I'd have Jack encounter 11 and Amy, then before 11 can even say hello Jack punches him because seeing him breaks the hynotic memory blocks within his mind and he realises the Doctor was responsible all along. The Doctor would be noplussed because he's been punched for something he hasn't even done yet!

Timey Wimey enough for you Moffat!

After ego-Tennant I would love to see Jack show up, hit on Amy and then just kinnda glance over the doc without any wink, smile or anything. For the rest of the episode the Doc must deal with a crisis of confidence with the idea that he is just not attractive anymore, not even to Jack!

Actually, I think the best way for this to work would be for the Doctor and Jack to share an adventure -- yet for Jack to be COMPLETELY UNAWARE that this is the Doctor. Perhaps to preserve the timeline, or to avoid Torchwood entanglements, the Doctor has to try to avoid giving the game away. There could be some comedic possibilities too, if Amy is kept in the dark and puzzled why every time she tries to say "Doctor" he stomps her on the foot or spills a drink over her!

A story taking place pre-Empty Child (in Jack's timeline) would be cool but difficult to pull off. Barrowman is 6 years older, after all, and while he doesn't look that much different from the way he did in 2004-2005 when he filmed his first DW episodes, there's enough of a difference that it might be a continuity challenge.

An easier idea might be for a storyline taking place thousands or millions of years into the future where we meet Jack and perhaps we finally learn whether the Face of Boe link is real.

I loved Jack in his previous DW appearances, but don't follow Torchwood and have no clue what's going on with his character now. So I'd probably prefer they not bring him back.

Besides, as much as I love Smith, I'm not really sure how you can top the great dynamic Jack and Tennant's Doc had.

Well as I've said before, I'd have 11 meet time agent Jack, and be direcly responsible for Jack losing the 2 years of his memory.

This.

Actually, Jack might have been quite the villain in those days. The Doctor may have wiped his memory in order to defeat him. Or, The Time Agency may have wiped his memory AFTER the Doctor had turned Jack from villain to good guy.

Doctor wanders into a country pub on the trail of his latest foe. Jack hits on the pretty, quirky guy. 11 tells him to keep it in his pants. Jack realises it's the Doctor. Brief manly hug and adventure follow. ;)

Jack finds the 11th Doctor, he is scratching himself and not to happy. Jack says " Thanks a lot! Alonzo had #^^% STD!!", 11th doctor, "Ohh Sorry about that, hope it goes away". Jack (still scratching) then replies, "Easy for you to say, you can regenerate, I can't!".

The Doctor is in a Nightclub..... and Jack is there and he makes a pass on the Doctor and the Doctor says "Jack, it's me" and Jack is all like "how drunk was I when we met last?".

Or it could be worse, Jack's a con man when we meet him precisely because of the missing 2 years, how ironic if that was the Doctor's fault.

There have been worse gaps than this in prequel land. Hugh Jackman was 9 years older when he did the Wolverine prequel. Jonathan Frakes & Marina Sirtis were 11 years older and looked it when they did "These Are the Voyages." Patrick Troughton was still playing the Doctor in multi-Doctor crossovers 16 years after he originally regenerated.

See, that I don't get. While I thought Jack fit really well with Eccleston, I often felt like Tennant's tone didn't quite mesh with him.

I like the idea of doing a pre-"The Empty Child" story addressing Jack's missing memory. I wouldn't be against a new Doctor Who appearance in Jack's current timeline either but I think they should hold off until Torchwood returns to better resolve his lingering "Children of Earth" issues. Honestly, I'm still kinda mad at him for that.
