How would TOS era Federation react to coming across a ship like this?

This was my Super Mario Bros.

While we're at it, here's the Star Trek game I played on the Vic 20. :p

"We've detected a weird ship on the sensors, Keptin."
"Mr Spock, do you have any thoughts on what this might be?"
"Crudely designed with elements serving no functional purpose. I believe in the parlance of the era it is called retro-futurism, whereby extrapolating the mid-twentieth century notions of technological advancements with the limitations of our actual scientific reality unimposed. I'm detecting the remains of certain lifeforms amongst the object."
"Mr. Spock, let's throw a tractor beam on her and tow her back to Starbase. Uhura, radio Starfleet for a space hearse to meet us there. Mr Sulu ahead Warp Factor Five."

i think it would be better to assume that the ship is in an unfinished state. like the framework and propulsion systems were complete but the civilization that built it just gave up halfway and abandoned it

But in Super Mario Galaxy it's finished. https://www.mariowiki.com/Dreadnought_Galaxy. I was just thinking the dreadnought would materialise in the Star Trek universe and the physical laws of that reality took hold and whatever enemies swarming all over it immediately choke to death.
I only started playing this game for the first time last year.

Kerr Avon would tell Roj Blake to put up the force wall and give the 1701 a few plasma bolts and *zap*. :guffaw:

If anyone still remembers playing Super Mario Galaxy in their childhood or Teenage Years, this is the main planet of Dreadnought Galaxy.

In Each mission, they always show emphasis on the ship's size. It's huge in comparison to Mario.

Those images appear to have been hotlinked. I have converted them to regular links.

Hotlinking is forbidden by the board rules.

"Hotlinking" isn't forbidden, or else we'd never be able to post images on this site unless we have a premium account. Hotlinking without permission (generally outside of one's personal domain or an image hosting/sharing site) isn't allowed, and that seems to be what you mean here. But, technically, any image hosted on an external server is hotlinked, and the rules doesn't seem to take that into consideration when it says simply "Don't hotlink".

Yeah, thanks.

I would have thought anyone who has spent any time on the internet would know the difference between linking to your own site (or an approved photo site like Imgur) and stealing someone's bandwidth.

Obviously hosted hotlinking is allowed.

Carry on.

"It depends on what your definition of 'is' is."

Wait, your Chief Designers turned the Kremlin INTO a rocket?

“Korolev was jealous of the Japan sized Dark Gundam”

Truth be told, there was a Super R-7 concept floating around—R-7 itself looked more architecture than airframe...the tallest tower of the iron city of Dis...the dead there from the mines of Kolyma that made Nordhausen look like a resort.

In terms of tower ships—I’ll take the Cosmostrator.

OK, this isn't TOS, but I could see the dialog from the beginning of TNG:A matter of perspective work here:

<On the bridge. An image of the ship is shown on the viewscreen and Picard asks Data for an assessment on this alien design never encountered before>
DATA: Interesting.
PICARD: Oh, thank you. In what way?
DATA: While suggesting the free treatment of form usually attributed to Fauvism, this quite inappropriately attempts to juxtapose the disparate cubistic styles of Picasso and Leger. In addition, the use of colour suggests a haphazard mélange of clashing styles. Furthermore, the unsettling overtones of proto-Vulcan influences
PICARD: Thank you, Mister Data.
DATA: You are welcome, sir. If I can be of further assistance
PICARD: No! Thank you.

(Disclaimer: this is not my own assessment of the model, I just think it's funny the entire dialog could be transplanted to such a completely different situation without changing even a single word)

At best it looks like a crude interplanetary probe, chemical engine type. Maybe a testbed for a sort of magnetic shielding with those spires in the front? Looks like something we could had made in the 60s, yes, but little else.

However with our modern knowledge of trek, this could be a prime candidate for the Science and Engineering division to shine. It's below the Bridge's notice but the Science team could have a look over it. The Social Science team could look into who built it, tagging along with biology. Engineering can come in to look over the old tech. It could had been a fun lower Decks episode for the TOS era. It's just being tugged along with wires or tractor beams (or really, both, for redundancy), the blues and reds are having a fun time looking it over.
