How Many Screens?

noknowes

Lieutenant Commander
I think the issue of how many screens Star Trek will be shown on has not been addressed.George Lucas , the saviour of science fiction , had many thousands of screens for the Phantom Menace ,generating $ 200 million at least , and the number of screens will make a hugh difference to the gross takings.

"hugh" difference?

Seriously, around here Wolverine in its second week has more showings than Trek in its first weekend.

I don't understand what you mean.

more showings , first weekend. What does it mean?

How many screens did Wolvervine open on?

"Hugh" as opposed to "Huge." Hugh also being the name of Hugh Jackman a.k.a. Wolverine. As to Wolverine, it opened up to about 500 more, I believe.

But this gives an unfair advantage of 14% to Wolvervine.

Why can't trek open on 500 more or even 1000 more?

Right, but aren't they synonymous when talking about theater or screen count?

Not necessarily since a theater can have multiple screens showing a movie.

For instance, Wolverine was released to 4000 Theaters, but was shown on something like 8500 screens as per a report.

In my town we have two 'big' theatres (16+ screens each) ... on Thursday one of them will be showing ONLY Star Trek.
They didn't do that for Wolverine etc.
