How many people died in STII?

As I remember:

From Spacelab: everyone but the Marcuses + one other guy (who Terrell eventually shot). That's 5 dead out of 7 (picture)
On the Reliant: Khan and gang, plus Terrell (I assume from Kirk's last entry of the Captain's log everyone was left alive on Ceti Alpha 5) I count 14 in this picture
On the Enterprise: Peter Preston, the guy in the torpedo room and Spock

so total casualties:

• 8 humans
• 14 super-humans
• 1 inhuman pointy-eared green-blooded hobgoblin

Is that right?

 

The guy in the torpedo room isn't a confirmed kill.

 

Let's not forget the baby.

Were all of the Regula personnel human? I can't remember, I think in the novel some were Deltan, but I don't recall any bald ones in the movie.

1) What was the crew complement of Reliant?
2) How many may have been kept aboard under the control of the eels to run necessary equipment?
3) That math yields the number of crew left stranded on Ceti Alpha.
4) How many of them were smart/lucky enough to survive?

 

I would have had the Enterprise as it was limping away, pick up the last lifeform left on the reliant as being the baby next to the genesis device, and them beaming the child aboard just before Spock fixes the warp drive and they jump, so they lose Spock but save the child.

 

That might make for a great short story. Kid finds the Botany Bay wreckage, etc.

 

I just now, after 40 years, noticed not 1, but 3 additional incinerated crewmen in the torpedo room: so

• 11 humans
• 14 super-humans
• 1 inhuman pointy-eared green-blooded hobgoblin

 

They died quickly…the loss of air probably killed quite a few off screen.
