How many people are in the audiences now?

Now that we are into the 6th day of general release (depending on your time zone), I was wondering if audience sizes are increasing, dropping off, or staying constant? I just got back from seeing the film for the 3rd time (just trying to cement my geek status) here in Melbourne and the cinema was packed (it is tuesday which is the "cheap tickets" night in Australia) and gave a massive round of applause at the end of the film.

Hopefully this bodes well for continued success of the film

I saw the movie on Thursday and again on Monday. Monday's crowd was bigger and based on the reaction, I'm guessing that the audience was made up of mostly casual or non-fans. It was also the IMAX version, so that almost certainly played a factor in audience size. There wasn't as much applause or laughter, but there was some, and I could also feel a bit of tension in the air. It wasn't bad tension, it was more of an impression of how non-fans probably see Trek. You know, a bit on the geeky lame side. Overall, people seemed to enjoy it anyway like they would any summer blockbuster.

I saw it in a half empty/half full theater on saturday night at 7pm. Mostly non fans in the audience, I would guess.

I was in a moderately full showing Monday at 4pm. But it was an IMAX showing. I doubt the normal showing was anywhere near as full.

Dropping off, but all movies drop off during the week. Next weekend is going to be most important.

The 7:15 PM IMAX show I was at last night was completely sold out. The crowd was, if anything, even more enthusiastic than the premiere night audience. But superdeluxe is right--this coming weekend will be the acid test.
