How is this simple feature not common yet?

Actually the TV I had about three years ago did have that feature.

Okay, here's the solution if for some abnormal reason you got to take your remote all over the house -- basically anywhere side from where the player/device is, needlessly:

JB Weld
Heavy duty fishing string (that doesnt' break easily)

JB Weld a string to the remote. JB Weld the other end to the player.


OR

Stop taking the remote away from it's range.

Once I actually lost my TV remote, for good.

I never found it again, despite searching high and low.

Still have the TV, though.

It vanished down the space-time wormhole that keys, ballpoint pens, and single socks go.

Nearly 20 years ago I had an idea that I thought every VCR and TV set should have: a "page remote button."

You lose the remote? You press the "page remote button" on your VCR and the remote makes a loud beeping noise continually until you pick it up and press a button on it. Simple, right? I mean cordless phones have had this feature forever.

Why isn't this feature on my damn DVD player?! I mean I can't be the only person who has thought of this and it seems to me it'd be cheap to put in to players, TVs, etc. So where is it?

I've currently lost my DVD remote and I have to turn the place upside down to find it when all I should "have to do" is press a button on my DVD player to find it!

That's hilarious, my older brother did this invention thing where you present your idea (it was like an invention convention) and apparently someone is already working on this so his got rejected.
