How Green Do You Like Your Orion Slave Girls?

So I'm thinking about the established fact that has been published fact that there are going to be Orion slave girls in this film, as published on all the star trek sites, and I have taken it upon myself to start pricing makeup for them to see how much it will take off the posted budget, so we can triangulate who Captain Kirk will be.

Anywho.

I have a problem now. I can't decide on which green to get!

I can't decide on BN-ML-33 Lime Green or BN-ML-32 Kelly Green.

This has a potential to have a major impact on the movie, because if the wrong green is chosen everyone will say "the orion slave girls look fake" and no one will go see the movie.

Kelly green. Lime green will make people go blind. (Granted, the sight of Orion slave girls may make them do other things to make themselves go blind as well... )

You raise an important point as the the legal liabilty and risk of seeing a properly done Star Trek movie.

Is Paramount legally liable for blindness and hairy palms after watching one of their Star Trek movies?

Went with the Kelly green. Can't say the comment about Vulcan blood green is too far off.

Okay, I'm assuming "Kelly Green" is more the TOS style while "Lime Green" was introduced in ENT.

The Lime Green color scheme seemed more acceptable as a natural skin color, so that got my vote. Clearly, the people in this forum have no taste.

I would think that 40 years of advances in makeup and color correction would be the larger factor in how believable it looks. Modern makeup done with an airbrush by an artist who focuses on aliens is likely to look a little better than some guy slathering whatever green paint he can find on a girl with no idea if it'll look good on camera.

I'd be all for a wide variety, from Lime to Pea-Soup to Seafoam personally. If we can have Brown, Copper, Black, White, Olive, etc. in Humans, I think it is fair to have a few varying shades in the aliens we come across. . . and I'm not talking about the human varieties + pointy ears/foreheads.

Teal is too blue, they need to stand out from Andorians. Seafoam gives you that slightest more green and just a hint of gray. Keeping things well on the side of green while retaining that aquatic tone. Really, its a win win situation here.

How about just issuing cinema goers with bits of green plastic to hold in front of their eyes when the OSG's come on? That'll cut costs. Better still - make sure everyone knows to bring along their own green plastic just for the occasion, then you could choose our own shade of green.
Rangers supporters could bring along blue plastic and have blue OSG's instead.....would it make a huge difference???
