How do you watch your TOS?

I've been rewatching TOS in production order. Does it make any difference to the enjoyment watching it in airdate order? Most of the episodes seem to stand by themselves and aside from some continuity problems (I'm thinking different uniforms in WNMHGB) I can't see that how you view them would affect enjoyment.

I only got to thinking of this when I discovered "Tomorrow is Yesterday" was originally planned to be the sequel to "The Corbomite Maneuver".

I don't watch them in production order; it's not the way I saw them on TV first run.

People say they do it that way so it will ostensibly make more sense; but it never failed to make sense for me in airdate order.

Well, the stardates are slightly less jarring when viewed in production order, and there are a few other production things that make more sense.

Currently though, I've been picking and choosing from my DVD collection to fill in TOS eps I've actually never seen or have only seen parts of, and I'll jump around a bit.
But I did make it a point to buy the single disc versions of the DVDs since they're in production order and if I ever do a big rewatch project I'll have them in the right order already (except for The Cage which was put on the last disc with Turnabout Intruder grumble grumble)

Recently I just saw it in order from S1 to S3.

There definitely was a drop in episode quality by S3, but it's not as bad as people say it is. Some episodes I could have done without, but for the most part, 90% of the entire series is great. I think that's a huge milestone (I'm a big TNG fan, and I think 50% of it is trite and dull, and maybe 20% unwatchable)

I like to watch in production order. You can best see the evolution of the characters, sets and costumes in this way. They put an amazing amount of detail into the first 12 episodes, in particular.

I've always been curious about how they would sound in Spanish. I could stand to brush up on the language a bit.

I watch them in my tightie-whities, as the Lord meant us to watch TV.

Um, that, I've been watching them in order on the discs.

I am watching TOS Season 1 for the first time ever currently and in the order they were first aired and it was a bit jarring when I hit WNMHGB. Hopefully no more speed bumps like that.

I can understand how that would be a little disconcerting!

It seems like NuTrek has had the bonus of making alot of people want to seek out TOS. :bolian:

I usually watch them in the order that they were originally broadcast as that is how my DVD set is layed out. But on occassion I will watch a random one such as the Troble with Tribbles when I want a good laugh. I am also a fan of TNG, they are normally watced in order because of the continuity.

Well when the seasons on blu ray, I first watch the episodes by season no production order. I start out with disc one and then so on. After that I decied to go by stardate. Thats how I watch them now.

I tried watching the episodes in both production and release orders a long time ago. While it's nice to get that sense of "I'm watching it as it was aired in the 60s" or "this is how they originally intended to show it" continuity, ultimately I just pick and choose episodes now. I'm not going to waste my time watching the ones I never enjoy, like "The Cloud Minders" or "Catspaw."

I guess I'm weird because during my last TOS marathon, I watched the entire series in reverse order. That way the episodes just get better and better...

TOS Season 1 is available instantly on Netflix, so I've been watching random episodes. I was never that into TOS, but I've been catching up on the classic episodes that I never actually saw. I just watched "Balance of Terror" for the first time a couple weeks ago!

I watch them according to whim :)

My boyfriend has them stored on his hard drive and I just summon new episodes to me with the click of a mouse, as they trip merrily over the wireless network.
