How Disco plays to a British conservative

Well I felt kinda dirty even clicking on a site called "The American Conservative". Bullivant seems to have a chip on his shoulder about many things.

The "SJW" arguments are annoying because it shows they have not even watched Discovery. Where in Discovery are there "SJW" politics? Point them out because I can't see it.
The dumb this is that this is the biggest problem with Discovery, it has no exploration of philosophical or political themes, at all, it's an incredibly shallow show that sort of makes extremely vague allusions to Trump I guess but that's the beginning and end of it.
How in hell is Discovery more "SJW" than any other Trek show which delves far more deeply and explores largely progressive social issues? ENT and TNG have episodes exploring gender fluidity, gay conversion, the aids crisis, transgender issues etc. How are those shows less "SJW" than Discovery?
It's such a dumb argument and such nonsense culture war stuff that is annoying because it legit just shields Discovery from actual criticism.

We're actually trying to avoid political discussions that don't arise directly from events in the episodes themselves since it's such a hot-button subject that easily gets out of hand. So, with apologies to the OP, I'm going to shut this thread down. I'm sure you can find one of hundreds of discussions on identity politics in the show (and how those discussions quickly went downhill) by running a search of the forum.
