I hope theres not been a similar thread but was curious to know how did everyone spend there last day of 2009 and first day of 2010...Anyone who had Sex will be killed in a rage of jealousy :klingon:

Personally me n 2 friends decided to get some snacks in and we had a gaming night well afternoon/night from 4pm till 4am  only just noticed the pattern. Some PS3 action with Uncharted 1 & 2, Ressie 5...We dug up the original XBOX and of course capped the night off with Wii Super Mario Bros...Also watched Inglorious Bastards on DVD for the 1st time.

Got up just 11am and gamed some more  yes nerds. CBA with parties etc I just want to spend a night with friends doing something I enjoy not too mention our conversations are disturbing and funny all in one to the extent we were told by my friends brother we really should You Tube these Gaming meet ups ;)

Anyway how did you spend your final day of 2009 and first day of 2010.

Does sex count if it doesn't include another person?

Anywho, my wife, kids, and I went to the annual New Year's Eve party we've been going to since the past 11 years or so, with lots of families and kids. We chatted, ate, and played lots of blackjack. We were home by 12:30. Nothing special.
For New Years Day, just cleaned up the house and took a walk. Pretty low key.

My friends and I are getting together tomorrow for "Belated New Years" since we couldn't schedule a party this year. As a result, I spent my New Years buying and subsequently playing "Arkham Asylum" and drinking $4 strawberry champagne straight from the bottle.

Watched a lot of canned tv-series (and the queen's address when that was on), ate a can of soup, had a few cocktails, talked to people on-line, crashed a friends party with a bottle of champagne to say 'happy NE', went home and got to bed.

My usual custom: Three Stooges Marathon and Chinese Food. I was at my Mother's house and my Niece and Nephew were there. My Nephew (11) hit the sack at about 9oclock, with no interest in ushering in 2010. My Niece (10) was determined to make it to midnight, and she actually made it without dozing off once. Of course, we then had to carry her to bed like a limp rag doll. :rommie:

We had the Stooges on most of the night and played a couple of games. I tried out the new heater on the back porch and got a nice picture of a hazy full Moon above the trees, though my camera generally does not do well at night. We also watched a Christmas movie starring Robert Urich on On Demand. Then we tuned in to Dick Clark to see the ball drop. Dick Clark rocks; I love his indomitable spirit. :bolian:

Went with my best friend, his girl and my best girlfriend to a friends appartment.

We made "Raclette" (small chopped things like paprika, mushrooms, corn, peas etc) that gets heated up in a small bowl underneath an electric grill and there are two plates on top of that for cooking small pieces of meat or whatever you want to cook.

It's a nice way to eat slowly as the portions are small but you have a great variety of food combinations.

After we were close to stomach explosions we played some casual games and short of midnight went outside to fire off some rockets and watch the fireworks and above all make some really goofy pictures.

Return, play some more games (the males kicked the girls asses!:devil:) and at about 4am went to bed.

The day after we had a lengthy brunch, went home, saw Avatar 3D in the afternoon and then chilled out in the evenening,

Pretty good, low key party with friends.. i'm beyond the age to need some stressfull party with tons of people.

I'm jealous of the nice time you guys all had. Normally I stay home with my boyfriend on New Year's just relaxing and watching TV, but this year some nice people at my fairly new job invited me to a party. I don't party much, I'm definitely a home body, but I really like their company so I decided to give it a try. And I was quickly reminded of why I enjoy staying home. Man I hate parties and drunk people. Even when I'm drunk I'm never really drunk - still feel responsible and like I need to clean the place up and I can't seem to get rid of my dang good judgment. So mostly it was me standing around watching my co-workers play beer pong and make out with each other, and looking at the clock wondering when it would be a decent time to make an excuse to leave. I don't know how I will face them on Monday. I didn't do anything to be ashamed of, but they sure did!

I really hate parties, did I mention that? I hate loudness and alcohol put together.

I had to work. I was asleep when the new year rolled around (I had to get up at 5:30 on 1/1). So I did nothing on New Year's except that. As usual.

Although after I got off work on the 1st, I did have dinner with my parents. At Smash Burger. :)

Being disappointed.

:( But your plans sounded so lovely. What happened?

The new kitty gnawed her.

 Nah, Comet was very good.

I dunno what happened really. I had gotten in a lot of nice food but my husband decided he wanted Arby's for lunch, so he didn't feel like eating later. Then the two people we were expecting over didn't show up till really late, which was annoying because I could have just had a nice evening with my husband if that was going to be the case. I'm annoyed because it was my brother and my friend, and I know they were just messing around together and I think it was pretty rude of them to not even call and say they were going to be late.

Then when they did come over, they brought some crappy frozen food so I felt like an idiot for having the nice stuff out. No one ended up drinking much at all and they all wanted to do stuff that was incredibly boring for me, so it was just like ... an inconvenient night. I finally went to sleep but they were up till 5am and I couldn't sleep because of the noise.

I think I was annoyed because my original plan was to just stay in with my husband, and then the other two sort of invited themselves over. And they had a great NYE, and I ended up just wishing there was no one around. I'm getting fed up with friends and social engagements in general, so I probably overreacted anyway.

Anyway, that was far too long of a post but the point is I think I will spend next year's NYE alone!

I'm sorry to hear you're expectations weren't met, Kestra.

I spent NYE with three friends. After evening Mass one of said friends cooked a simple but good Italian dinner, which led to a lot fo conversation, although I enjoyed myself with listening mostly. At midnight we toasted with cider and went outside to watch the fireworks. The cold soon made us flee inside again, though.

Sorry to hear that, Kestra. That would have annoyed me, too. I'd be just as happy to spend New Year's alone myself.

My girlfriend came over on Wednesday and stayed until the evening of January 1. We went to downtown Toronto to the big televised bash in the rain and snow, had frozen feet, walked with the crowd up Yonge Street till her high heeled boots were killing her feet, went home and continued to celebrate!

My first New Years where I actually celebrated it. This is going to be a GREAT year.

Also sorry, Kestra, that your holiday didn't go as planned. Virtual hugs for you!

I went to my friend's house. There was going to be a few people there, but he set it up right at the last minute and didn't really do much to announce it, so it was just me, him, his brother and his girlfriend, but we had a decent evening. Ate quite a bit of pizza, had a bit to drink, played Scrabble and crashed at 6 AM while playing GTA.
