How did you become this monster?

So which show turned you from a "normal person" to someone who posts on SF/F forums?

Mine is a closely-guarded secret. :p

My original posts got lost in the big forum mishap of the early twenty first century, but I think I came to this forum originally to talk about the first season of Enterprise or the finale of Voyager. Either way, my motivations were not healthy ones.

Enterprise inspired me to register. It was actually the Star Trek Chronology by Mike Okuda that inspired me to think about these things are more than a strictly "was that episode entertaining" level. It's also what inspired me to watch Enterprise, since it made me think about Star Trek's past.

Short answer, Star Trek inspired me to register. I stay for Misc and TNZ, though, not any particular science fiction show. I suppose Doctor Who is as close as I get to commenting on a Sci Fi show these days.

Watching Trek was something of a weekly (and eventually daily) endeavor of mine from the time I was three weeks old through to 17 when ENT ended. When that happened and I came to terms with the fact that there might no be further televised/cinematic Trek for a long, long time I started discussing it much more routinely on the internet.

Certainly didn't hurt that I was involved in the "Save Farscape" campaign back then too.

Years back when the post-finale DS9 novels were startin', I had a fan site for 'em, and KRAD posted about it here in the TrekLit forum, and sent me the link.

So, its all his fault I'm here.

Babylon 5 inspired me to post on SF/F sites in general.

Nothing specific brought me here to TrekBBS, just several shows I wanted to see what was up with in Fall 2010 Season (IE: When they were starting, etc)

The Star Wars novels were what really roped me into the genre. (I had read Heir to the Empire even before seeing ESB.)

The forum for a mod to Elite Force got me into web boards.

A Sluggy Freelance reference in a Five Minute Enterprise review prompted me to register here.

Technically DS9, even tho it was over by the time I got here. There was still a lot of tail-end discussion going on. Then I became curious about VOY, which I soon realized was fun to watch and then bash to shreds. Then I started branching out with everything, Farscape, Futurama, ENT, Stargate, BSG, Lost...

Before this place, I yakked about DS9 on Psi Phi, which I believe is now defunct? :( Just curious whether there are any almuni left here.

I grew up on Star Trek (original series) and Godzilla movies and I was on another Trek forum. I think it was the official CBS forum, but that forum was nothing but anarchy and this place is much better.

That's funny, Psi Phi was far more controlled than this place. I heard reports about TrekBBS that made it sound like anarchy. :rommie:

I was looking for info and spoilers on ST:Enterprise, read the forum for some time and then decided to register.

I hate it when OPs just ask a question like this without offering his/her own answer.
