I just picked this up and am absolutely loving it. Obviously it didn't appear on screen, but how canon is it considered within the ST community?

Does this sub-forum need a sticky reminding people of the canon policy of the Star Trek franchise?
Not a post, we should change the background image..Does this sub-forum need a pinned post setting people straight on the canon policy of the Star Trek franchise?
The research is for information not canon. MA is a reference site. So for a site like MA or a book like Federation: The First 50 Years, the question should be is it a good source of information? As a lifelong fan, I'm well aware of the Star Trek community's canon parameters. Perhaps I should have worded my post differently. My daughter was just born, so sleep is in short supply lol. I know that certain websites, books, etc are sometimes consulted by writers of shows and movies (i.e. Pegg's research on Memory Alpha for Beyond), and I was trying to find out how well accepted this book was in the fan community.
If you mean something like 'is it cosidered in continuity with the other more recent books' then no. The Enterprise relaunch depicted it completely different, to my knoledge. As a lifelong fan, I'm well aware of the Star Trek community's canon parameters. Some like it, some don't. Same as any book every written, regardless if it's Trek or otherwise.I was trying to find out how well accepted this book was in the fan community.
